McDaniel voters still not sold on Hyde-Smith. Here's why.
The Resurgent ^ | 11/20/2018 | Resurgent Insider

For the uninitiated, a lot of McDaniel fans feel they got screwed in former Sen. Thad Cochran’s re-election, when the Cochran-Barbour machine in Mississippi worked every conceivable angle to deprive McDaniel—who is regarded as a stauncher conservative but also was accused of racism and may even have appealed to some Mississippi voters as a result of it—of a win.

Subsequently, that same machine let a short time pass, Cochran exited the US Senate, and Hyde-Smith—a former Democrat who also has the backing of the same Mississippi GOP establishment—took his place.

[...]

Not only did Hyde-Smith used to be a Democrat; like her Democratic opponent, she reportedly has some big Clintonworld connections. He was a Cabinet secretary for Bill, by far the more Southerner-friendly of the pair. She, by contrast, has been reported by a McDaniel-friendly publication to have been in business with one “Umesh Sanjanwala, the father of a Hillary Clinton consultant.” (Fun tidbit: The business reportedly used a URL previously used by an occult-oriented firm that offered “services for communicating with the dead”; if you believe this report, Hyde-Smith may have been planning to use it for an online ministry).

The same report also indicates that as a lobbyist, Hyde-Smith worked for the National Coalition on Health Care, which has some pretty lefty members and is supportive of Obamacare—likely a deal-breaker for hardcore McDaniel fans.

The rumor among McDaniel folks is that Hyde-Smith voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primary, a rumor that is basically reported as fact by this same pro-McDaniel outlet, and one that hasn’t exactly been put to bed by Hyde-Smith and her own comments on the topic.

In this day and age the idea that ANY Republican is as bad or worst than ANY democrat is silly.

and here is the punch line to all of these purists that blame the rest of the world when their lunatic candidate manages to win the gop nomination, but lose the general:

although they all maintain that the very existence of the republic is in MORTAL DANGER by people who are less pure than they are, the best they can muster against this attack against our country is to . . . post gibberish on an internet message forum.

the sacrifice they are making for our country is deeply moving.

My brother lives in Scottsdale and he said he knew for sure two of his neighbors refused to vote for McSally, both Ward supporters, because they would rather see Sinema elected than a RINO Republican.

Yes, the purists has an effect and I am afraid they will in MS as well. People deserve the govt they elect. I would like to swim in 85 degree water. However if the two choices are boiling water and 60 degree water I will take my chances if getting out of 60 degree water alive.

Purists would rather sink slowly in boiling water.

Why are you supporting Hollywood values all of a sudden?

You are putting your words into my mouth. I am pointing out the rank hypocrisy of the New York based media empire hyperventilating about Roy Moore dating teenagers while offering no condemnation of their glitterati celebrities doing exactly the same.

My point is that it was an act. They really weren't outraged, they were just trying to work up outrage in people whom might vote for Roy Moore, and this faux outrage worked.

It was a trick, it was a tactic, and too many people fell for it.

mcdaniel screwed mcdaniel in missisippi. nobody else. get that sh*t straight.

I read on FR (although I do not know this to be true) that both ward and arpaio refused to endorse mcsally. that would have provided her the margin of victory, right there.

the purists give the seat away, and then blame everyone but themselves for the loss.

Ward endorsed.

I place part of blame on Trump. Trump didn’t endorse McSally until the General. By that time, it was too late!

so, now you’re trying to justify what moore did by pointing out that it happens in hollyweird?

I'm trying to show that the feigned outrage by all the New York based media outlets and the Washington DC based propaganda outfit called the "Washington Post" was false.

The way I show their outrage was false is by showing examples of other people who did what was accused of Moore, but none of these pillars of moral society cared to condemn any of them for it.

For some reason they only decided to express outrage about a conservative bible thumping candidate that likely would shift the balance of power in the Senate and vote against Washington spending and vote in favor of legislation they hated.

your honor, the prosecution rests.

Looks like you didn't do any work sufficient to require a rest. Lobbing silly claims at me didn't require any effort on your part.

Ward did endorse McSally eventually though it was half-hearted.

The Republican Party is a coalition of the old, moderate Eastern Establishment and the Conservative movement. The Conservative Movement itself is also a coalition of Trumpist ex-democrats, Religious Conservatives, Chamber of Commerce Conservatives and Libertarian/Conservatives.

No one branch of the party or the movement can control the policy moves of the entity without help from one or more of the other branches. Unfortunately some give and take is necessary for the left to be defeated.

Your error is assuming the progressive wing of the GOP wants to defeat leftists. Did not the senator elect from Utah “vote for his wife” knowing that GOP voters doing so en masse would mean a Hillary Criminal SCOTUS? Case closed.

Todd Akin, and Richard Mourdock, Sharron Angle, and Christine O’Donnell all losing perfectly winnable senate seats is EXACTLY what got our healthcare hijacked, by the way.

so, in addition to all your other crimes of ignorance, now I accuse you of being responsible for ACA.

The Hillary Clinton supporter running for Senate as a Republican in MS is just as “bad” as those candidates. Yet she has the full support of the GOPe. You might want to buy a clue and ask yourself why that is.

Still learning the wrong lesson from events. No, it wasn't anything wrong with them, it was this F***ing media attack machine that manipulates elections by firing nasty hate broadcasts against our candidates who have no power to take over their airwaves and refute these lying claims by these bastards who have the broadcast power.

It's about broadcast power, not about "bad candidates." If we had the broadcast power, all of those people would have been "good candidates."

Because the Liberal media weapon system has the broadcast power, Maxine Waters is a "good candidate." Because the Liberal media weapon system has the broadcast power, Nancy Pelosi is a "good candidate."

Because the Liberal media weapon system has the broadcast power, Bill Clinton was a "good candidate."

If *I* had the broadcast power, I'm pretty sure everyone of those bastards would be in Federal prison in less than a year, because I would report about their corruption, and I would not stop talking about it until the American public was crying out that these thieves and criminals be arrested and imprisoned.

You seem to be a sort of person that does not understand how this mind warping system of broadcasting works on the public.

And that's the real reason why we lose. People let the enemy tell lies about their people, and they don't try to take any action to make the lying media weapon pay a horrible price for their lying.

*THIS* is how things work.

those are both dead guys. you do know they can’t bother you anymore, right? I mean, right?

The legacy of what they have done yet lingers, and still causes harm to us all.

Your commentary reminds me of that scene in the Lion King in which the Ape hits Simba with a stick, and when Simba asks him why he hit him, the Ape says "It doesn't matter! It's in the past!"

Yes, the past matters. Without learning from the past, we make the same mistake in the future.

Those two dead guys are still hurting us.
