She should have already been suspended from her job. I hope they haven't given her the opportunity to resign/retire in lieu of them filing criminal charges against her, but I'm afraid that is how it will end up. I saw it plenty of times while working for NY State.

Why can’t she still be criminally investigated after she resigns?
She can resign, but she still should be tried, convicted and sentenced for her crimes.
