Not a problem, the Kid is White. No GoFundMe Page for him.
“A district spokesperson went on to say it is investigating the incident as a personnel matter and will take appropriate action based on the findings.”
Isn’t this always the “government way?” Particularly when the cops are involved.
No picture of the ‘teacher’, no name.
Does that mean he’s Black?
Whatever color, it doesn’t matter.
That was a dumb thing to do to a student.
Is the kid related to Jim Acosta?
...this all started over some kind of dance move her son did on the floor of the gym...
If he was a minority it would be allowed.
My mom would've told me I deserved it and to BEHAVE in school OR ELSE!
Good Lord! Never seems to occur to anybody (especially parents) that their little darlings might need some home punishment to go with the occasional discipline they get in school.
There seems to be a thing with gym teachers ....at least in my district...taking their perceived power wayyyy to seriously lately.
How is this NOT child abuse?
But they’re not going to fire him. Union.
I got the paddle by the vice principle in 7th grade because my friend wanted to pass notes about the hot teacher. But that was a long time ago.
How much more of this has to happen for parents to wise up and homeschool (or unschool). Or a good Catholic school.
Public schools are prisons and many teachers are little more than child abusers (to the white boys at least).
Do the right thing before the damage done to you child is irreparable.
This may or may not be the person involved:

A half hour in cold rain won't kill a kid, but it will get his attention. Had one of my boys (they're 42 and 39 now) complained of this treatment I'd have asked "What'd you do?" Behavior is supposed to have consequences.
I had MUCH worse punishments than that.
I went to Catholic school.
I withhold judgment until more facts are available. This is the word of the 10 year old about what happened. There are no other eyewitness accounts of the circumstances.
I'm surprised at those here who jump to conclusions one way or the other with such little information available.
While I’m not opposed to schools taking appropriate disciplinary action when called for, this particular punishment is asking for a lawsuit and was ill advised to the point of idiotic.
What did the boy do to make his teacher react so...where are the facts? Thirty minutes of discomfort may just be the greatest life’s lesson he will ever get.
