You forgot the baby

They always do. They talk endlessly about "a woman's body, a woman's choice," but the fact that a fetus is SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY just does not register with them.

So, in other words, you don’t care about the unborn or believe their lives have value? I can see your reasoning for not being responsible for things you have no control over, but this is something in which you do have a say. The unborn are slaughtered because of people like you.

Not all abortions are alike, but in all cases, if the soul of the baby came from Heaven, then I trust that it returns to Heaven. A past friend of mine was pregnant and diagnosed with Rhesus Disease. An abortion saved her life. No doubt other women out there have their own reasons. It's between them and God.

I don’t personally kill babies, but it’s tough raising them, so if you want to, it’s your choice! That’s basically the argument.

Jesus says is we hate or wish to murder someone in our heart then we are guilty of that crime. I wonder are we allowing those thoughts to take shape and live within someone by allowing the possibility of abortion. In other words if it was illegal many people would not even think about it. Although not paying for it is important line if we fail to fight against it are we just washing our hands like Pontius Pilate? Asking for your thoughts. Blessings, Mel

“I am Catholic and pro-life but believe in a woman’s right to choose abortion... as long as it is not taxpayer funded. Yeah, that last part.”

That and being a member of this forum for less than a year are quite congruent.

You are NOT pro-life if you believe in “a woman’s right to choose abortion.” These are antithetical.

“Same for a woman who has an abortion. The consequences, if any, are between her and God. She will answer for her actions, and God will either have mercy on her soul or not. No one else has a say.”

I suggest that you NOT advocate your prochoice views on this pro-life platform. Either keep them to yourself or start your own website. Or try DU. They will probably run you off for opposing funding, but other than that your position is about the same as 60% or more of them.

Your argument could be applied to ANYTHING. You could be against raping babies, torturing them, selling their body parts but consider those who engage in such behavior in private will merely have to answer to God some day. Who are you to judge, right? Not like these are anything other than speculative theories and thought experiments, right? (Except they are actually happening in our nation with NO legal consequences.)

You are missing a fundamental principle of people sharing a society and a common government. If we are to have a civil society, prohibiting and punishing murder is essential. If we can not be in agreement on this basic principle, there is no basis for our common government. And it is time “to dissolve the political bands which have connected” us to one another.

For more info please consult the specified and enumerated “right to life” within the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

I’m personally against bank robbery, but if that’s the only way you can save the life of the mother who am I to judge?

At least be honest about the choices you claim to support.
