I remember watching TBs The Beverly Hillbillies a a child in the 70’s and saw Hee Haw’s Roy Clark as cousin Roy

Sounds like two guys playing.
“Hee Haw” was a real problem for me, it was so embarrassingly cornball I didn’t want to even be in the same house when my folks would have it on, but on the rare glimpse I got, there were some really cute girls and guys like Roy Clark would could play pure hell out of a guitar or banjo. Later I’d ignore the cornball and watch for the music (and chicks). If TVs back then had remotes with mute buttons it would have been perfect. RIP Roy Clark, and say howdy to Buck, Glen, and Chet.
Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Roy Acuff, Marty Robbins, and of course Buck Owens... all on hand to greet Roy Clark, one would suppose...
(Not to suggest any cheesy pop songs about "C&W Heaven" or anything like that, mind you...)
SALUTE!!
- Mark Knopfler & Dire Straits, "That ain't workin'."
His playing “Laura’theme”has to be one of the best.
watched it in NYC area
The song's easy to find but it ends in a stanz with a carnival barker or snake oil salesman doing his thing and nobody even tries to put those lyrics down.
Doesn't matter. I enjoy listening to the song and seeing if I can figure it out.
Big talent gone.
I never picked cotton
But my mother did
And my brother did
And my sister did
And my daddy died young
Workin’ in a coal mine
It’s what got Freddie Hart, too, and he was 91. But I still wouldn’t get the shots, no way.
Another of my earliest musical influences is gone. Time is passing quickly...
One of the saddest, most beautiful songs, “Yesterday, When I was Young,” by Roy Clark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-DtHBQrQn8
