WASHINGTON (AP) — As a steadfast Rep. Nancy Pelosi all but dared potential rivals for the gavel to come forward, a group of restive House Democrats vowed Wednesday to produce enough votes to block her from becoming the House’s new speaker.
For two days now, disgruntled Democrats have claimed they have 17 names on a letter opposing Pelosi’s leadership, promising to air the document soon. They say those signing on are pledging to vote against the Californian when the full chamber elects the next speaker on Jan. 3.
Rep. Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., confirmed the letter Tuesday, and an aide to an organizer of the effort said it stood at 17 names as of Wednesday. The aide was not authorized to discuss the letter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Pelosi, asked by a reporter about her message to rebellious colleagues, challenged them to put forward an alternate candidate for speaker.
“Come on in, the water’s warm,” she said.
Democrats seeking to block Pelosi argue it’s time to give younger Democrats a chance to rise to high-level posts. They also say that Republicans have done such a good job demonizing her in campaign ads that it’s hard for Democrats to be elected in closely contested, moderate districts.

You could almost put a Fram oil filter in her hands there.
So the folks who can’t play the game yet want to oust a woman who can....Pelosi doesn’t want to go home to babysit her grand kids! Just like Hillary!....Do any really think that power-monger will give it up to someone else?........this is going to be entertaining.

Be ironic if some of these Dems got a taste of their own medicine - votes not mattering because the election is rigged.

I must admit some disappointment that the Republicans didn’t hold the House, but if they had we would likely have been bored and angered by the same “do nothing, go along to get along” BS.
The Dems should at least offer some entertainment as they decide who’s the boss. Whole lotta shaking’ goin’ on there.
A person like Nanzi can be genuinely happy when they snap and have no real connection with reality.
I would like to root for her because ..... I have some popcorn in ready-to-microwave bags....
..... I’m sure Pelosi and the Old Guard Democrats Still have a lot of funding from established donors .... Not to mention they also know where all of the political bodies are buried ..... Unless they want to retire early ..... They aren’t going anywhere soon .......

Nancy Pelosi, in the 1990s was a leading member of the
Progressive Caucus. In reality the Progressive caucus was started by congresspersons who belonged to the Democratic Socialists of America. The DSA is a Communist front group that has over 80 members in the House and one Honorary member in the Senate (Bernie Sanders).
Nancy has no worries as the Progressives will fight to keep her large and in charge. Newly elected members like Occasional Kotex (D-NY), who started out opposing Pelosi will come around and join in with the DSA Progressives to support Pelosi once she gets the word from the other Democratic Socialists.
I guess they don’t know yet how the dem leadership works. She has the goods. The majority will vote for her. It won’t take long befor the newbies are also under control. Hint hint.
If they aren’t ready to go to the mattresses they are going to get wiped out.
