The creators of the show South Park have issued a rare apology, reprising the character ManBearPig to make amends for a dis that is more than a decade old.
In a 2006 episode during season 10 of the animated series, Al Gore issues a stern warning to the students of South Park Elementary School about the single biggest threat to our planet. He was talking about ManBearPig, a creature meant to represent climate change...
South Park was effectively mocking the global issue at the center of An Inconvenient Truth.
Now, 12 years later, show creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have orchestrated a mea culpa.
In this weeks episode, "Time to Get Cereal," the children discover Gore was right all along when the character Stan sees an attack. They seek Gore's help, which he provides, but not before they apologize for not taking him seriously years ago.

I watched this episode and think the article is bullshit. Anyone who construes it as an apology to Algore is an idiot.
I think they are still making fun of AlGore
Which chakra was connected to Al Gores penis, I forget?
Haven’t seen it, but suspect it was a tongue-in-cheek non-apology since we are still here much as we were before. The only thing that has changed substantially is the political climate.
Why bother turning over that mossy rock?
Hmmm....Maybe one of them has political plans of his own, and is making nice, trying to unburn bridges.
If so, it’s probably the same one who’s been telling that popular lie that he is a republican, when everyone knows that’s not the case, he just likes to provoke a reaction.

Leftist NPCs are incapable of comprehending humor or irony or subtlety.
Since the heart of Southpark is all three of these, they are usually lost. I think this is a big set up.
This “apology” is fiction from an NBC writer’s mind.
I watched it. It was very much a real apology and featured various “republican” types denying manbearpig was real while getting eaten.
listen... warming, cooling, it was 50/50. so i took a shot!!!
No way that they should not call a Man Bear Pig a Man Bear pig unless they are apologizing for for calling him Communist Bear Liar.
I didn’t think it was an apology to algore. not the vibe i got from it.
manbearpig is a metaphor for hillary, right? /s
I'm not sure. Saying ManBearPig is real sounds like an apology to Gore, but the Al Gore character is still a parody of the real man.
2006? Weren’t we supposed to be underwater in coastal cities by 2008 or thereabouts? Manhattan, SF, LA, all under water. I bought an inflatable raft for nothing because of the fear mongering by Al!
“No massage parlor employees were harmed during the making of this show”
I wonder if it is a sly take on the Simpsons getting rid of Apu. As in bowing down to PC pressure.

Ever since Obama was crowned the Entertainment Mantra is We will not make fun of any Democrat!!. I remember way back when, Leno was asked why he didnt skewer Obama and his answer was hes not tunny. It was shortly after Obama had proclaimed he had visited 57 states. I guess the word came down from on high, LAY OFF OBAMA......and they still stay away from skewering him or Moochie.
