BURLINGTON, Vt., Nov. 9 U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said today that he will re-introduce legislation to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $15 an hour in the first week of the new Congress.
"While the official unemployment rate is relatively low, too many workers in America today are making wages that dont pay enough to make ends meet. Workers and their families cannot make it on $9 an hour or $10 an hour or even less," Sanders said. "We have got to raise the minimum wage in this country to a living wage at least $15 an hour."

By the way,how did all you federal government congress crittters get us $20 trillion in debt?
Lord help us, Look at who we have elected to lead us, we are a stupid godless bunch.
Oh c’mon Bernie, let’s go for $16, or $18, or how about $25? Or how about the gov’t just giving every citizen $50,000 per year, plus free health care and free college. Go all the way Socialist if you’re gonna go a little bit.
Which will cause prices across the board to rise to balance it out. It’ll be a wash except for your savings which will lose value sending you further into the hole.
Socialism requires compulsory productivity.
Discouraging high productivity thru confiscatory taxation, they need to up productivity elsewhere.
Minimum wage makes it illegal to produce less than $15/ hr value.
He has no idea how things work.
Same old crap they booted out for
Never pay Sander more than $15/hr unless he is under performing. Then pay him less.
I suspect he only works about 500 hr/yr.
Burnout Sanders. Dead from the neck up.
Instead of doubling the minimum wage, how about halving the tax rates? All of them. For everyone. Taxes are too high, and that is why people are struggling to make ends meet.
Back in the 1950s, one wage earner could house and feed a family of 6 or more. Now, it takes two wage earners and they struggle to house and feed just 2 or 3. Taxes are too high and too numerous. All taxes and fees combined would ideally be under 10 percent total.
Good idea Bernie. Let’s put all Government employees on a $15 pay rate, including Congress of course.
yeah that will really win in the senate
They just have to sabotage Trump, don’t they?
its all fiat monopoly money, no reason for taxes or not to give away money.
from a 2018 article on the Forbes site, Venezuala's inflation has exceeded ...
...25,000%.
C'mon Bernie! We can beat that!.
.
“Lord help us, Look at who we have elected to lead us, we are a stupid godless bunch.”
Chillax. Do not include “us” with these pukes. May I remind you that this useless clown has never introduced ANY bill that passed, even in the Senate? All his bills are so stupid most senators leave the room. There’s a Youtube video of it but was pulled down a year ago...
I’m going to get worn out doing this, but I’m trying to get others to not include me in “we.”
They voted for Bernie, not me. They get the government they deserve, not me.
The only way it is me is because I live within the law and do not take the law into my own hands to stop them or overthrow them. I am not part of their corrupt leftist “we.”
And neither are you, I am certain. Told you I’d get exhausted fighting the world after a awhile.
Why would anyone hire a Legal American for 15/hr when they could pay an illegal half that amount.
The American becomes a client of the welfare state and the illegal will probably vote. Win/Win
Forward!

Great. It made all the prices go up when the idiotic voters voted it in during the 2016 election. Now the barely making it people on a fixed income can’t afford to go out to eat at all and those who got the raise find their income doesn’t go any farther because everything went up in price.
Only an idiot would suggest the entire country do this. Oh wait; we are talking about the socialist Bernie “the bone head” Sanders.
Republicans should propose $1500.00 an hour minimum wage. Let Democrats argue about the inflation. Then ask, at what point does it become counter productive to raise wages?
