Volunteers spread out Friday trying to find any ballots that could help Democrat Stacey Abrams close the gap against Republican Brian Kemp in their unsettled, too-close-to-call race for Georgia governor.
Unofficial returns show Kemp with an advantage, and hes already resigned as secretary of state to start a transition with the blessing of the outgoing GOP governor, Nathan Deal. President Donald Trump weighed in with a tweet that said Kemp ran a great race in Georgia - he won. It is time to move on!
Yet Abrams, who hopes to become the nations first black female governor, sent out volunteers and campaign staff in search of votes that she hopes could still tilt the margin toward her.
In a frantic effort to make sure every possible vote is counted, dozens of volunteers converged on a warehouse-turned-phone bank near downtown. The goal: reach voters who used a provisional ballot to make sure they take steps to ensure their vote for Abrams or Kemp is counted by Friday evening, the deadline.

Scouring every jail, prison and cemetery in the state, right?
Democrats have been getting away with fraud for so long that they are getting sloppy.
They're unlikely to find many provisional ballots for Kemp. Republican voters typically don't use provisional ballots, the primary tool of the entrenched Democrat vote fraud machine.
What if the provisional ballot voters were shown to have voted twice!! Once by Early mail in and another by the ballot box.
Let it be known they will be prosecuted if they voted twice!
I'm flummoxed, not bamboozled. Did Abrams look in her chamber pot? There has got to be something in there.
LOL! Good one.
Just trying to create a talking point.
The old leftist narrative:
“All Ballots Haven’t Been Counted Because Of Republican Vote Supression”
In Georgia you need to get 50% plus one vote.
The libertarian candidate got 37,000 votes. I find it hard to believe that if there was a runoff that the libertarians would choose the lefty.
But they have become just a pro pot party instead of a pro freedom party, so who knows?
Are they saying (a) provisional ballots did not have to be turned in at the polling place, and (b) can still be turned in to county registrars as late as tomorrow?? If that’s the case, then heaven help us, for it is a provisional ballot voting process MADE FOR FRAUD.
Is this what we are faced with in Georgia today:
[Let’s see how cloae we are, and if we are close enough we have till Friday to make up fraudulent provisional ballots to make up the difference. We just need to check that the persons have not voted yet, and are not home to be contacted now. We also can check the nursing homes and see who is registered and not voted and fill out a provision ballot for them.]
In Texas there were millions who didn’t vote.
This could go on forever....
No. If Georgia statutes regarding provisional ballots are similar to Florida’s there are procedures that voters must follow for the ballot to count. If mistakes (for example addresses not matching what is on file) are not fixed by a certain deadline the provisional ballot is null and the vote does not count.
Voters in Florida if given a provisional ballot receive instructions and most sign that they understand said instructions and the consequence of not following them.
No, they have been given permission to get people to vote even after the polls have long since closed.
Why,I’m sure when Abrams volunteers ask if they voted for the republican they will take their ballot to
