After Hollywood, the mainstream media had the worst #MeToo record. Here's another reminder of that as the media circles the wagons in defense of Jim Acosta's ugly scene. It's not news that CNN was bound to back Acosta. But the rest of the media decided that Acosta's latest narcissistic tantrum was the hill to die on. For the First Amendment.
As Times White House reporter Julie Davis tweeted on Thursday, @Acosta's behavior here, like it or not, does not disqualify him from the First Amendment-protected freedom to ask questions. Otherwise, how are we different from a place that has no freedom of the press at all?
Yes, how we are different than North Korea?
If Jim Acosta loses his hard pass, we might as well be Turkey and lock up hundreds of journalists. It's exactly the same thing.

Two girls fighting?
That’s supposed to be a *turn-on*, right?
“No one has the right to touch anyone else.”
Acosta committed no crime or did the microphone lady.
The reason for suspending him was his refusal to shut up when Trump asked him to.
Entrapment, perhaps. Not soliciting, LOL.
Kick 'im in the jimmies!
Actually, you hit on a good point. Jim Acosta is not credentialed as a bonafide news organization, CNN is. He is just their representative and his ability to come and go at the White House is determined by his actions. It would be no different than a known Russian agent working for RT attempting to gain access. The Russian would have no standing to claim admittance, however his agency could.
This isn’t the first time this has happened. Just ask Sam Donaldson from ABC about the time he was escorted off the White House grounds from the Rose Garden when he got pushy with Reagan. I have it on tape and it’s hilarious.
Jim Acosta has had several run-ins with personnel at the White House. He has, essentially, worn out his welcome. If CNN would like to appoint another reporter to cover the beat they should feel free to do so. I hear Megyn Kelly is looking for work.
Read what simple assault is.
he’s allowed to ask questions until POTUS tells him to give up the mike. Then he is not allowed to ask questions. It’s called respect for the Office, and for other reporters who think they are just as important as he is.
Actually, it wasn't even this bad. After Billy Bush egged Trump on several times to get him to say something sensational, Trump said, "When you are a star they let you do it." He NEVER said that he did it and in fact, I do not think that he did or those involved would have been out there supported by big time Dem lawyers.
Having just looked back at the video, Billy Bush comes across as a bigger snake that I even thought before. The woman was wearing a swishy, slinky spaghetti halter strap short dress. She was continually trying to get Trump to touch her. He hugged her gently at Billy's suggestion after which she bear hugged Billy. Then she grabbed Trump's arm but he kept his own arm by his side. The entire thing was a set up. This was in 2005, it was just for sensational TV, not politics then, but still disgusting. What Trump said was disgusting also.
It was like the Eddie Murphy routine where he talked about if you're a star in Hollywood, women throw their pussies at you like they're Frisbees. And he's right. That's just the way it is. There are a lot of women who will let rich and powerful men do whatever they want to them. Not saying it's all women, but there's plenty of them out there.
Freedom of Speech does not equal Freedom of Touch.
So, not allowing a reporter into a room in the White House is the same as locking them up in a Turkish Prison?
Good Grief.
Go watch “Midnight Express” and get back to us.
Provide a special Jim Acosta microphone. Give it to him to keep. Turn it on to let him ask his foolish question and shut it off immediately — and don’t turn it on again.
That way interns never need to come near #Accost-Her — and we get to shut the guy’s trap.
Perfect. Have Megyn Kelly take Jim the Acoster´s place.
“Read what simple assault is.”
Here it is: Simple assault is the attempt to cause serious physical harm to another individual. It also refers to causing the individual to be in fear or apprehension of an imminent battery. The crime does not involve physical contact with the victim.
Acosta and the woman did not exhibit any of that behavior.
