U.S. Senate Rick Scott leads Bill Nelson by 15,092 15,079 votes (13 more votes for Nelson found in the past 30 minutes)
FL Governor Ron DeSantis leads Andrew Gillum by 36,223 36,219 votes (4 more votes for Gillum found in past 30 minutes)
UPDATE: This story has been updated to reflect that at approximately 2pm Eastern, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections posted another 11,300 votes (which broke 70-30 in favor of Democrats). This new tranche of ballots triggered a mandatory machine recount in the governors race and a hand recount in the U.S. Senate race.
UPDATE #2: After another update sometime after 5pm, Nelson has gained another 2,000 votes, cutting Scotts statewide lead to just 15,092 votes. It is unclear where these last 2,000 votes came from.
UPDATE #3: Scott has ordered FDLE to investigate Broward Countys handling of ballots. Attorneys for Rick Scott have filed a lawsuit in the 17th Judicial Circuit against Broward SOE Brenda Snipes. The lawsuit demands access to public records in an effort to know how many ballots have been cast, how many have been counted and how many ballots remain to be counted. Snipes maintains that she does not have this information.
Republicans Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis may be in trouble. Despite clear margins of victory for both men on election night, Democrat election supervisors in Broward and Palm Beach counties say they arent done tallying up votes. Two days after the polls closed on Tuesday night, Democrat candidates Bill Nelson and Andrew Gillum benefited from nearly 46,000 Democrat votes that have been found in those counties and added to the statewide election outcome, throwing Florida into a partisan uproar over mandatory hand and machine recounts and the possibility that the integrity of the election process has been compromised.
Nelson already has his lawyer promising that Nelson is going to prevail, and a close advisor to Gillum posted on social media that he is aware of at least 20,000 more ballots that he alleges have yet to be counted: We are now 0.02% away from a legally required machine recount of @AndrewGillum vs. @RonDeSantisFL. 42,948 votes seperate the two and Im told at least 20k votes are left to count...
Kevin Cate (@KevinCate) November 8, 2018 But it is unclear how the Gillum camp could possibly know the number of outstanding ballots if any especially since Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes claims she has no idea how many ballots remain to be counted:
Not sure. Im really not sure. But we are working on those, Snipes told CBS4 News in Miami. Republicans have expressed frustration with Snipes, who has a long history of election snafus. Just days before the 2016 presidential election, Republican poll watchers discovered that Snipes and her team were illegally opening vote by mail ballots which traditionally come from Republican voters behind closed doors and away from the supervision of the canvassing board, whose job it is to oversee and certify the election outcome.
This looks like intentional incompetence, said one Republican strategist who declined to be identified. We see it every election cycle down there. Democrat election supervisors cant really be this incompetent, so it raises the question of whether or not they are intentionally failing to protect the integrity of the vote counting process. Theres only one reason to do that, and thats to rig the outcome for Nelson and Gillum.
On election night, Florida governor Rick Scott led incumbent Senator Bill Nelson by nearly 60,000 votes. The next day, Scott watched his lead inexplicably shrink. Overnight, enough new Democrat votes had been discovered to close the gap by 22,000 ballots. Later that day, Scott watched as Democrats in Broward added another batch of Democrat ballots favoring Nelson. This time around, it was enough to shrink Scotts lead by another 10,000 votes.
The oddities in Broward continued again on Thursday. When Scott went to bed last night, he held a close but still decisive 30,000 vote lead. When he woke this morning, like clockwork, Broward County again had added a large tranche of Democrat votes. At about 2pm, Broward had discovered another 11,300 votes and when they were counted, they broke roughly 70-30 percent for Democrats. As of tonight (updated at 8pm), Scott leads Bill Nelson by just 22,000 17,344 15,092 15,079 votes, requiring a mandatory hand recount.
Those new votes also reduced Governor-elect Ron DeSantiss margin of victory to just 38,515 36,223 votes, or 0.47 0.44 percentage points (as of 8pm Thursday) based on the total turnout of 8.2 million votes cast. Anything less than 0.5% triggers an automatic machine recount.
Representatives from both the Scott and DeSantis campaigns say they have attorneys and representatives on site in Broward and Palm Beach, attempting to monitor the situation, but some Republicans are concerned about partisan poll workers gaming the system during a machine recount, where poll workers manually feed ballots into a machine, rather than the actual voters themselves, as happens on election day. Worse, in the case of hand recount, Snipes and her staff may be free to determine the voters intent rather than simply allowing machines to read the ballots.
Once we get to that level, said the Republican strategist, its going to get crazy. With Brenda Snipes running the recount in Broward County, Florida voters should be very, very concerned about the integrity of this process.,
You’ve got to be kidding me! THAT is who is in charge of the elections in Broward County? Shew looks as corrupt as Donna Brasille was for the head of the DNC.
I wouldn’t trust that staff to run a 7/11
I have never approved of “early voting” as it is a good method of finding votes needed in recounts. It is time for an end to early voting.
Election cheating & fraud is anticipated in Broward County Florida.
They have polished their fraud to an art form where they prep for the vote fraud during early voting so that the ‘fraud ballots” are ready, as needed.
Snipes and her cohorts are begging for a federal election charge of fraud. Then they will scream That’s Raaaacist to defend themselves.
Let me guess, the hand recount is done by Demoncrat hands....
Paging AG Matt Whitaker- throw the book at them and remove the entire Broward SOE.
, are we prepared to emulate Britains or Vichys stance in the aftermath ?
Speaking for me, yes.
Broward should be suspended from voting for at least 10 years.
My guess is in South Florida, most of the absentee non military ballots vote elsewhere too.
I will find out .
The underlying problem here is that voting is a province of the state, almost exclusively. We were fortunate to have gotten 2000 into the SC. This must be resolved immediately at the state level. Let the democreeps try to elevate it. IMO, every absentee voter in Fl should be investigated for voting in another state. Too many transplants here to suggest they are not voting elsewhere too, especially the liberals who view any law they do not agree with as simply an impediment.
My Broward Experience:
In 2012, I showed up at the polls to vote for President. I had no choice but to vote for Romney, as he was running against Obama, so it was vital.
The lines were very long, and XXL purple-shirted SEIU persons whose purple shirts contrasted nicely with their mahogany skin tones walked up and down the lines glaring at the little old white ladies who were waiting in the hot sun to vote. (This was across the street from a huge Senior Citizen Complex.)
Anyway when I got to the first desk, another mahogany lady took my Voter registration card and sneered:
“Oh. You’re a Republican.”
Whereupon, she took my ballot and wrote a big “R” on it with a red pen. Then I went to the booth and wrote in my vote, and took my ballot to the counting machine.
As I fed the ballot into the machine, I noticed a little notice at the bottom of the ballot, in fine print, just as it got swallowed up.
It said:
USE BLACK INK ONLY. ANY OTHER COLOR WILL INVALIDATE THIS BALLOT.
It was gone before I actually could actually process what I had read. The words came back to me later as I mulled it over, but I couldn’t prove anything, and I wasn’t sure if I had read it correctly.
But the more I think about it, the angrier I get.
Brenda Snipes was in power back then too.
Where is the diversity? I dont see one Mexican! Not one!
Our Bd of Elections used to use rented trucks as well, however, a police officer always accompanied the ballots from the precinct to the BOE offices. There was never a time when the ballots were unsupervised. Which also brings up another issue. According to the article, the ballots were sealed indiscriminately with extra seals laying around unsecured. This should never happen. Each bag should have a seal that is numbered, dated, and signed by the person affixing the seal. There should NEVER be extra seals at the precinct level. This is an invitation for fraud. Of course, this is exactly how the Democrats steal elections.
Sounds like the Sec of State needs to get a better system and Bondi should do the job she was elected to do. All you need is a system of controls, a few prosecutions and this crap would stop.
....hah...and Gov Scott allowed it......
From what I read, a couple of ballot boxes were found in a storage room in a school. Since those ballots are not part of the chain of custody, you don’t count them. The only ballots that count are those that are voted, collected, and delivered to the BOE with the aggregate. None of this “oops...I found this box a day or two later” crap.
Caught On Video: Concerned citizen sees ballots being transported in private vehicles & transferred to rented truck on Election night. This violates all chain of custody requirements for paper ballots. Were the ballots destroyed & replaced by set of fake ballots? Investigate now!

That’s the way it is supposed to work. But, it doesn’t seem to be working that way in Broward. Or, now in Georgia.
As long as WE allow this to happen, they will continue to abuse the system. That’s why I’m hopeful Trump will address this in the next two years. Right now it’s up to us to bring pressure on our local (State) legislators to stop this abuse. It’s time for swift, severe, prosecution of those who break the law. How is it that Snipes is still Election Supervisor for Broward County with a Federal Court finding that she deliberately destroyed ballots that were being contested in 2016. There is no reason for her to be anywhere near the counting process.
Our biggest problem as Republicans is we will not address the problem. If we walk into a polling place and a poll worker is sitting there with a candidates shirt on or badge, we will not say anything. We need to stop the process and demand the laws be followed. If a poll worker marks a ballot with ANYTHING other than the required information, STOP THE PROCESS and demand a new ballot. It’s time we stood up to this.
We don’t have to do anything other than demand the current laws be followed. If the precinct supervisor intervenes and won’t follow the law, DEMAND someone from the Board of Elections be contacted and take it to the next level. If there is something that doesn’t seem right, contact the State Elections Board. Our problem is we don’t fight back. We grouse about the result but do nothing to change it. Everyone on FR knows Soros’ plans to use State AG’s and SoS to rig elections. Make sure OUR people get elected to those positions.
Frankly, I’m tired of going through this election after election. Every election cycle the fraud gets more prevalent and more open. As long as we sit idly by, nothing will change.
