President Donald Trumps pick for interim Attorney General, Matthew Whitaker, has been met with harsh opposition in the form of a New York Times op-ed co-authored by none other than George Conway. Thats right, the same Conway who is married to counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway and regularly trolls the president on Twitter.
President Trumps installation of Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general of the United States after forcing the resignation of Jeff Sessions is unconstitutional, they wrote. Its illegal. And it means that anything Mr. Whitaker does, or tries to do, in that position is invalid.

It is a shame when somebody with her head screwed on straight gets attached to a goofball like her husband who just does not seem to understand things in politics. It is either that or it is that he is trying to get to her for something. I tend to think it is more of the latter.
Sorry, but unless President Trump is begging her to stay on staff (which I find highly unlikely) the right thing would be for Kellyanne to just resign. If she really supports her boss she wouldn’t allow this to continue. Since she obviously has no control over her dumbass husband, she needs to just move on. Trump is the only one, IMHO, that is irreplaceable.
Not gonna end well when one side, driven by Rage, regards anything that does not serve their political ends illegal or immoral. Prediction time: By 2 years from this moment they will have pulled Trump down or they will have pulled America down.
It will be less than two years, My FRiend.
Poor Kellyanne! Shes married to a man who hasnt an ounce of respect for his wife.
Sadly, many women (and men) make this mistake every day.
How exactly is she supposed to stop him, by threatening to file for divorce?
Cut the “sugar” off. That will get him back in line.
Pillow talk in the Conway household must be interesting.
Where was this numb nuts when Andrew McCabe was appointed Acting Director of the FBI following Comey’s firing? You can’t bitch about just one appointment moron.
She needs to cut his ball off.
How do we know she isnt the Anonymous administration insider? I really smell a 🐀 here.
BEARS REPEATING
Right. Like he’s supposed to put in someone dedicated to his destruction. He’s not insane. There are advantages to winning and being President, Constitutional priviledges and responsibilities.u
That they are! A comedy act. I think they’re hilarious. He’s all mean looking and grunts, like an old poop, but won’t say a word when she speaks, never interrupts her. I long ago saw that he has a big mouth, but is a big old softy with Mary.
I don’t know who Prince Conway even is. ???
” I find his actions to be symptomatic of a more serious problem: disrespect.”
Yes! This is her boss, after all. Her boss deserves some respect for fairly employing Kelly Ann and paying her handsomely, I’m sure, one way or the other. Regardless, her career is set for life, all thanks to this boss of hers. George should respect the man who helps support their household.
Yes, and it's a pretty interesting one.
Unfortunatly, the state of this forum is such that of 135 posts only three even obliquely address the arguments made in the article.
Most just declare that since it isn't favorable to Trump it must be wrong, Constitutionally uninformed and a betrayal.
"Im enjoying reading two things en route to Phoenix. The first http://www.mitfordbooks.com At Home In Mitford, which is genuinely a joy: funny, calming, easy to disappear into, and full of wisdom. And various takes on The Vacancies Act and the acting AG. The latter is really a complicated issue with quite a lot of good analysis as opposed to results-driven conclusions but here is a practical take: It might might be an unconstitutional overreach. Why not then dispatch @SecAzar or @SecretaryAcosta or DNI Dan Coats and avoid the argument. They can counsel with the current Acting AG knowing he understands the state of the department, but an unquestionably valid appointment simply avoids all the misery of an adverse decision down the road and the consequences that would follow for every decision taken. Why make an easy one hard. Meanwhile nominate the new AG-to-be, appoint if necessary during recess, and be done with it. BTW: That new AG should be Judge Luttig as Ive argued before today and often enough. The pressing issues at DOJ need clarity on the department, a brilliant legal mind, and certainty of authority, not controversy about the Acting AG. Perhaps if @senatemajldr @LindseyGraham @SenTomCotton and some of @realDonaldTrump lawyers-in-the-Senate friends could sit down with him and kick it around, this could resolve quickly. Now, back to Mitford."
I think that Katyal and Kelly have a pretty compelling argument that Whitaker cant hold the office for long, if at all, without confirmation.
The founders provision that these senior positions require the consent of the Senate was wise, and seems pretty clear cut.
I understand emergencies, but thats not what were dealing with here.
Twitter Troll George Conway, NY Slimes Op-Ed. BTW, every executive order by Obama is invalid, as are all the bills he signed into law.
Exactly. How many decades ago was that?
Agree 100%. I feel for her. And I think she’s going to have to resign before her dreadful husband ratchets up his rhetoric.
