I understand these off duty officers actually stood in front of kids or protected them as parents of kids are reporting now.

This was California. They probably aren't allowed.
Your question does not address the point of my scenario.
I worked at a Golf club that had off duty officers attending special entertainment weekends.......that we knew of none concealed carried within the building or they would not have been let in.

Perhaps, but not letting cops carry off duty would not surprise me at all, given the other totally dumbass things the Californicators are coming up with of late.

As stupid as many California politicians and some police leaders are, they are not yet at the point of prohibiting off duty officers from concealed carry. Give them time though.
