It is my birthday today, so I get to post the live thread. :)
Some places to watch:

Well, I’ll listen to POTUS DJTrump rather than you guys. He tweeted tonight “Tremendous success tonight. Thank you to all!”
I was hoping to hold the House! The fact that this is ‘historical’ doesn’t make it any less painful. We can take some solace in what wins we did have.
In a normal country, the Republicans would have kept both houses and won every other race due to the strong economy.
That apparsntlg didnt matter to most voters in the House races.
As I predicted, GOPer Mike Dunleavy appears to have won the Governorship of AK. With 80% reported, he is 10.4% ahead of Democrat Begich (Walker is at 2%, so made no difference), 53-43%. So that’s a gain for our side. Don Young is winning by a similar margin, 55-45%, though not exactly an impressive win for him.
I still have no idea if we'll have a Republican or (as usual) democRAT governor in CT. I'm sure the 'RATs are manufacturing the votes as I type.
No results yet in the McSally-Sinema nor Tester-Rosendale races yet. Or the Georgia gubernatorial race.
Great news!
Yes, that is what is surprising, with the economy booming, we still lost the House. A combination of two many open seats and a lot of Soros money.
Yup, thats what hurts. We expected to take losses but not to lose the House.
I guess that means that with Paul Ryan and the GOP no longer in the majority, we won't get full ObamaCare repeal or any funding for the wall.
My pleasure.
“we let the Democrats own the healthcare and education issues”
Huge drop of the ball by Repubs and Trump on the campaign trail. Didn’t remind folks the rats own the Healthcare law. Didn’t ease their fear Repubs wouldn’t take away pre-existing conditions coverage if they had the votes to change the law. That’s all I saw in campaign ads on local TV from the Rat “soccer mom’s” running against indangered So Cal Republicans.
You are very young clearly. Everyone assumes annihilation for the incumbent party during midterms. If anyone would have told me wed lose 33 seats in the house and gain 4 in the Senate, I would have taken that result all day long. Anyone who has followed elections for more than 20 years knows how fortunate we were tonight.
“Were you expecting to gain seats in both the Senate AND the House tonight? If so, based on what? “
I was expecting modest losses of about 20-25 seats, it will probably end up over 40 seats. This is called a blue wave.
Yes Ive already admitted coming out on this dismal evening
Just trying to be inspirational in spite of it all
Thats sarcasm for daft scolds btw
Women have eyes too
And quite a few desire as well
Goose gander
I'm sick of it, too. But it unfortunately seems here to stay. And I admit it's become habit to me now to label the GOP "Red" and the demonRATs "Blue".
Me too! But historical trends are historical for a reason -- they repeat regularly enough throughout history to become trends.
We got by easy tonight. Dodged a bullet in fact, since we kept control of the Senate -- bucking the historical trend!
Truth here. Trump mitigated the historical trend rather strongly.
The Ds cant help themselves. Theyll push the insanity meter to the max. Theyve lost control of their crazies.
I expect some ‘booms’ in the next few weeks, exposing some very vulnerable dems’ activities... Maybe that’s why DJT was so concerned about the governorships...
FISAs, collusion, and bribes, OH MY!
Do they??
McCain made sure the republicans owned it when he killed the repeal.
The problem is there is no message on a fix.
It needs to be fixed badly. I didn’t hear anyone on the same message as to HOW to actually fix it.
