Dragging into its fourth week, all signs are on that the migrant caravan is falling apart.
According to the Associated Press:
ISLA, Mexico – A 4,000-strong caravan of Central American migrants traveling through Mexico split up into several groups with one spending the night in a town in the coastal state of Veracruz and other migrants continuing toward the country's capital.
The divisions came during a tense day in which tempers flared and some migrants argued with caravan organizers and criticized Mexican officials.
How did it happen? Obviously, someone promised them something for free and then didn't pay up. This is about what you'd expect when someone offers something for free, and then realizes that the whole thing is not going to pay off in the politically useful way he wanted.
Whether it was Venezuelan or Sorosian or Mexican, the free cash for a free ride to the border and all the free stuff of the U.S. just never materialized. That has raised questions about why the group should stay together instead of split apart. After all, anyone can apply for asylum to the states on his own. Applying in a 4,000-strong group pretty well means a long wait time.
A promised bus ride to Mexico City for thousands of migrants from Central America was the latest money that never materialized. Mexico's Veracruz governor, anxious to get the migrants out of his home state as soon as possible, promised them all free bus rides to Mexico City and then withdrew the offer, likely because Mexico City didn't want to take them. Federal authorities there warned the Veracruz governor he'd be charged with human-trafficking if his free bus rides rolled out to the Mexican capital. Obviously, Mexico City does not see itself as having much to gain politically from the big migrant caravan

As a lapsed Catholic, I fully agree with your assessment of the damage that Catholic Charities (et al) are doing to our country. My husband, who attends a Church of Christ), brings home his church bulletin and I’m sickened by the amount of dollars drained out of a small congregation going to Latin American countries and the number of do-gooders who take missionary trips to South America (some even bringing back exotic diseases to this country after their stints there). It’s disgraceful that they can’t help older citizens who are on fixed incomes and struggling in their own backyards, but traipse half way around the globe to put in efforts which never show results.

But I still have a sneaky feeling the “shrinking caravan” the MSM is peddling on the nightly news is kabuki theatre. One of the reasons the caravan is melting is because people have been contracting rides. Whether it’s coyotes slipping in and and promising folk can pay after they get in the US, or remittances are funding private transportation, the reality is We already have groups of Guats and Hons coming over the border, fresh as daisies.
That said, it will dawn on Mexico sooner or later that these caravan folk will be in direct competition for jobs with their own nationals in America. And in direct competition for public aid and services. Just as Mexican hispanics floated/forced themselves to the top, above our resident black population as the most needy, so to will Central American Hispanics take priority over Mexicans. And that means remittances to Mexico will be heavily impacted. When all that sinks in, Mexico’s elite will pour on the pressure for Mexico to put serious effort into ‘protecting its soverienty’ rather than lose -their- golden goose.

An objective for the 2020 elections would be stricter laws to prohibit illegal aliens from voting. I leave the details up to your best judgement as I don’t vote in the USA myself and only familiar with Canadian elections, but here you would have to establish your legal residency if you’re not on a voters’ list, you can’t just walk in on election day and convince three sympathetic (i.e. Democratic) polling station officials that you’d like to vote. That seems to be what’s going on in some American states. Do you not have people from all participating parties acting as observers in your polling stations (places where people vote)? We do, they are called scrutineers and they are on the lookout for fraudulent voting including multiple voting and ballot box tampering. Everything that happens here in a federal election is watched by people sent in from all the parties. Accusations of fraud are very rare here (which may not mean that instances are very rare but that would take some major deception to avoid being observed).
I figure that HRC’s so called popular vote win was only on account of 4 or 5 million illegals voting for her. Take those away, she might not win three or four states and definitely not the popular vote.

Enforce the laws and they will self-deport in large numbers.
If they do not get free food, free education, free housing, free medical plus welfare dollars, they will see they were better off where they came from.
The dems meme “you can’t put them all in buses and take then back to Mexico” (or where ever they came from) is a diversion tactic.
