If they were real bombs the USPS and anyone else who transports packages should have been alerted so they can take precautionary measures. Instead there is this deliberate obfuscation of an important fact that the public needs to know.

Seems like even an organization as incompetent as the FBI ought to be able to say, within 30 minutes, "This is a bomb" or "This just looks kind of bomb-ish." And since they haven't confirmed they were actual bombs, I'm betting on "bomb-ish".

Any combat vet could see after the first picture they were inert fakes even without knowing the composition inside. Notice they have not stated the 'ert' compounds in these devices. Even 50 years ago at 18 years old I could set up enough explosives and det cord to clear a stand of trees for a medivac or blow a bunker or tunnel. Us young'uns loved blowing crap up and I bet millions of vets saw the fakery as soon as the first picture displayed. Creating booms and destruction was our job in theater.
