Yesterday, it came to my attention that the head of the math department at a Texas public university is engaging in political activism with students. What this professor did was to include IN A MATH EXAM a question about the Kavanaugh nomination. The question, roughly was,
"Should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed to SCOTUS?
1. No 2. Hell, no. 3. Never in a million years."
Apparently, the professor's justification was that the student would get credit for answering the question, regardless of what answer they chose. And this person is quite unapologetic about it. But the point is, why is a math professor including an obviously politically charged question in a MATH exam?
I do not want to give any more specifics because I want to protect my source. But this just infuriates me and I wonder if any freepers have any ideas as to how this could be addressed. Could a student bring any sort of complaint about this?
Fire his ass. Immediately.
The SOB needs to be FIRED
Since there was no wrong answer according to the Prof, would he also give credit to someone who left the question blank?
4. Stick to math. This isn’t a poli-sci class.
Don’t whine if you aren’t willing to do anything about it.
RULE 13: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
Fire who?
Seems a letter or call to the college would be appropriate... record the answer
“Yes”, apparently was a wrong answer.
The professor of course.
Answer 4: when commies and fags teach classes.
So no, none answer will not receive credit according to the above statement.
....and then there’s always “rate my professor”
My perception is that math, engineering, physics and astrophysics are the least penetrated by the human secular socialisms and Islamo associated socialisms (Nazi alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood of WWII expanding to the observable penetration of Europe and the unrecognized as yet penetration of the US, mainly represented thru the Presidency of BHO).
I think the politicization of education should be totally removed from all its manifestations, and also think this is wishful thinking at the moment as over 95% of higher education tenured positions are of the “left” which I perceive as socialistic and protective of Islamism as the most dangerous combination of politicization in the Western hemisphere.
The Socialist Spectrum of political “isms” cannot represent education in a sustainable civilizational manner. Get rid of the politicizers in education. They represent non-education and are the poster-presence of indoctrination.
Publish a picture of the professor. Someone’s got a name and and a picture somewhere. Prof was brave enough to put that in an exam, be a hero and let us know who you are.
Ignore it, unless it adversely affects your learning of the subject in some way.
| Self-vanity, what are you trying to prove? That most Conservatives are cowards?
Worse, that is not a legitimate exam question in ANY subject.
It is pure propaganda, since the student is not permitted to reject the premise or disagree with the evident extreme bias of the “professor”....
UT Austin? He’ll get a raise and promotion.
What's good for the goose...
No prisoners.
