Will do, but, not really worried.
Mostly worried about how wet we will get trying to get to work. They haven’t closed us down as of now.
Thanks.
I posted a link to him of an ABC news twitter showing that they went to Barksdale.
I am so comfortable that ABC News is tweeting location change information on Twitter.
I don’t mind if a journalist speculates, but loose lips sink ships.
Nadine is another one to watch.
Very strong already so far out in the ocean.
Thanks for checking in and your thoughtful expressions. All best wishes that you and your properties weather the storm safely. Please keep us updated when you can.
having said that, all I found in an initial search was a lot of Eglin AFB closing, etc. Nothing about where F35s are going. (frankly, thats fine with me...Im not crazy about keeping the public abreast of where they might move fighter jets. We dont really NEED to know)
My DIL flew to Panama City to visit my Granddaughter on Friday and were both going to fly home on Wednesday evening. On Monday they tried to get earlier flights out but were unsuccessful and then the Army base told most personnel to evacuate on Monday afternoon so they decided to drive.
Looks more and more like a cat-4 landfall close to Panama City is quite possible, storm surge will be very severe within 100 miles of the landfall to east and 30-50 miles to the west. If not totally sure of safety, evacuate immediately (would drive as far west as could afford to go, Mobile or Biloxi should be fine). Pensacola not totally out of the woods but likely to be moderate impact at worst there. Anyone reading this from about Fort Walton Beach to Cedar Key is in a bad spot and very large storm surge has already built up with the ‘cane regardless of any last minute wobbles or changes in intensity. Marine forecast speaks of 30-60 foot seas, you do the math.
I surely hope they have reached a safe destination.
Yep. But then, local grocery stores used to print tracking charts on the paper grocery sacks. I like the modern graphics we have now, but sort of miss listening to the coordinates being updated on the radio and jotting a new pencil dot on the grid.
Good info. Thanks!
When this is over, go have a nice meal as Sconyer’s for me.
Best BBQ in the Universe, with Carolina BBQ in New Ellington right behind.
Keep up the great work youre doing once again. My niece just left Pensacola NAS (got her wings ..shes going to be flying Seahawks!), but she has many dear friends still there. Our prayers are with them and everyone in the path.
Camille caused horrible flooding and destruction in VA.

Praying for all in the path of Michael.
Thanks, I guess I a little irritable. It looks like the hurricane is going to pass just East of me so I probably won’t get any serious wind damage but I sure could.
One thing is almost for certain. The last one which passed this way knocked out the power for 10 days. I am 72 and in poor health so not looking forward to that.
To make matters worse my Daughter and family had to cancel their visit from Oklahoma.
Congrats to your niece! Thanks for your thoughtful words. Hoping P-cola is spared the worst of the storm.
Hang in there, YD. Im so sorry youre family will have to postpone a trip. Hope things stay ok for you. Lots of prayers from us Marylanders for our southern friends! (My father-in-law lives in Melbourne Beach ..just north of Vero...so they had their terrible times with a hurricane one year ago). Stay safe.
They’re in Texas already, headed for New Mexico.
Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Storm season is wicked for messing up travel plans. Please keep us posted with local updates when you can.
