Democratic pollster Molly Murphy said on Monday that it is hard to imagine a scenario where a large number of people will ever trust the media again.
"I think that it is difficult to imagine a scenario where you're going to see a high number of people saying that they trust the media now or in the future," Murphy, a partner at ALG Research, told Hill.TV's Joe Concha on "What America's Thinking."
"There were limited media sources, and people got their news from the newspaper that was delivered in the evening. They watched the evening news. Now they can access not only 24-hour on cable news, but they can also follow it on Twitter," she continued.
"Everything's happening in real time, and the unbiased version of the facts is sort of bled together with coverage of opinion about the facts," she added.
"We've kind of evolved into how we get our news with so much opinion woven into it, and when you factor that into outside interference in our elections through the media, I think it does create a level of distrust and cynicism that it's hard to imagine going back," she said.
Murphy's comments come as distrust in the news media appears to be on the rise in the U.S.
A recent poll conducted by Gallup and the Knight Foundation found that 69 percent of Americans say their distrust in the media has declined over the past ten years.
The Democratic Media Complex screwed themselves.
We don’t really need the MSM any more. We have all we need on the internet. That includes the MSM but they will be a shadow of their former selves.
How do we get through to the people who only know CNN and MSNBC
Last line in the post on "The Hill" : A recent poll conducted by Gallup and the Knight Foundation found that 69 percent of Americans say their distrust in the media has declined over the past ten years.
Text from the actual poll : Consistent with the trend toward declining trust, 69% of U.S. adults in the current survey say their trust in the news media has decreased in the past decade. Just 4% say their trust has increased, while 26% indicate their trust has not changed.
I guess 98% of the Media being Democrat isnt enough for Ms Murphy? The poll of people who believed that Kavanaugh should be seated on the SCOTUS was at 50%, BUT when the same people were told that none of the people cited by Ford could/would corroborate her allegations, the percentage rose to 67% believing he should be seated. And Im thinking, WHO DOESNT KNOW THAT NONE OF HER WITNESSES CORROBORATED HER STORY?? WHAT NEWS ARE THOSE PEOPLE READING/LISTENING TO???

After the media experiences with Desert Storm and embedded reporters, this is why they were so against it during the Iraq War. The MSM couldn't control the narrative when live feeds were beaming across the country and the world. They were left with reporting on American body counts, and ignoring military successes.
It's only gotten more pervasive ever since.

On “Life, Liberty & Levin” last night this was the topic. Mollie Hemmingway and Joe Concha made up the panel.
The bottom line was pretty much that the MSM is over when it comes to credibility and power. Levin equates social media, bypassing the MSM, to the pamphlets of the 1700s — the ones that helped kick-start the American Revolution.
Taylor Swift has been in the news recently.
Her song “We are never, ever, ever getting back together” would be very fitting with regard to people’s trust of the media.
Their problem is their concept of “news media.” They think it’s still 1968, with Huntley and Brinkley and Uncle Walter Cronkite being the authorities who declared what the “news” is. They had TV, but they were themselves harkening back to the radio news reporters of WWII and the Korean War.
But something around 20 years ago now, the networks abolished their “news” divisions and rolled that into their entertainment divisions. So part of the media’s trouble started there, with them losing perspective on what is “news” in favor of sensationalizing entertainment.
As the public lost respect for the “news” they were seeing, media people lost respect for themselves as well as their business, and kicked over all pretense of being non partisan.
Now they truly are what President Trump called them a few days ago, just part of the Democrat Party.
He was being nice. I say they are the propaganda running dogs of the ‘Rat Party.
Fake news
Democrat partisan hacks betrayed the public trust and spit on concepts of religion, family, country, and rule of law.

Boy do I wish I knew. My sister tunes in to their nonsense. She insists she’s stronger than to be misled, but time and again she shows she’s bought some piece of the nonsense. She’s very conscious of what she eats and I try to tell her that it is poison in her ear and if it were food she wouldn’t touch it.
To no avail.
You dont. The only people who watch those programs are the brainwashed nitwits who protest due process and evidence. They are demon possessed. Maybe if you did an exorcism you might be able to get through to them. Otherwise you just have to get through to normal people. They need to see that Antifa crackpots will be their rulers if they dont get off the couch.
They are dead-man-walking, and they don’t know it.
Real Journalism today is done by people like John Solomon, Chuck Ross, Sara Carter;Jeff Carlson, and such.
The MSM has decided to be a political mouthpiece, not a purveyor of unbiased facts and even the people who don’t pay close attention have been looking up from their daily tasks and thinking “WTF? What is going on?”
Particularly during the Kavanaugh Confirmation process.
...and this is why.
This chick is like 25 years behind...........
The irony is that the media did it to itself.
