I knew the Kelly brothers when they were in high school. Lost touch when I went to college and was very surprised to learn many years latter that they had become pilots/astronauts. They were nice guys and reasonably bright but no rocket scientists. They lived in a section of Northern NJ where unless you were a WASP, being a Democrat was in your DNA. And — are you ready for this — they liked to drink beer!!! We all did!
