Protesters Drown Out Joe Manchin With Chants Of ‘Shame!’

Moments after Sen. Collins finisher he speech outlining her reasons for voting yes to confirm Judge Kavanaugh, Sen. Manchin announced that he would also be a yes on the final vote tomorrow. CNN’s Manu Raju and several other reporters cornered Manchin in the hall and asked him about his decision.
Thirty seconds into his answer, protesters began chanting “Shame! Shame!” so loudly that it was difficult to hear him. The questioning goes on and so do the chants, shifting from “Shame!” to “Shame on you!” and eventually to “Look at us!” when Manching seems to be focused on responding to the press.
All of this is happening after the Collins announcement, which suggests the far left isn’t ready to let go of this despite the fact that it’s effectively over. You can thank Jeff Flake for that. The spectacle of two protesters causing him to delay the vote and demand an FBI investigation has given all the impetus the far left needed to try for a repeat. Who is to say whether one more awkward confrontation could change someone’s mind again.
But I don’t think the protesters are likely to get it done at this point. My worry now is about what else could happen between now and tomorrow’s vote. Shortly after Collins’ speech, a progressive activist tweeted this:
Targeted harassment in public is becoming old hat for the far left. I think it creates a dangerous environment, especially when activists are already operating at a fever pitch. The stage has been set for extremism. Let’s hope no one overwrought about the results today gets carried away and does something really stupid.
As Manchin walks toward the elevators at the end of this clip, one protester shouts, “Are you going to let our democracy die?!” I don’t think the protesters believe this is over yet.

West Virginia Democrats taking him out for that? Let’s hope so. Trump should reward him with a cushy ambassadorship/cabinet position.

And who would sexually molest any of you, anyway, unless the choice is between you and [self-censored].

Where are the counter-chants of Ford lied?
I know, I know. Were not built like that. Were civil.
And even if we organized a march on DC that 2 million people attended, the media wouldn’t report on it.
All we have left is our votes, folks. Thats the only way we can shut these pukes up. Its the only poll that matters.
Get out and donate and volunteer! This is truly the only option that we have left, short of a shooting war!

I really think that the hysterical over-the-top manufactured outrage is going to turn a lot of mushy middle folk off. They’re steadily making themselves look ludicrous. I suspect this is going to backfire in a big way on them.

They forget they are setting the precedent for how they are going to ge treated in the future.
They think because our side does not pay hundreds of people through a foreign billionaire, Soros, to go and harass politicians for a paycheck, that its not going to happen to them.
Its all fair game now. they are broadening what is considered acceptable tactics.

Are you going to let our democracy die?! These people literally believe that the continued existence of democracy hinges on them always getting their way and that people should not be allowed to merely even disagree with them.

Government offices need to be closed down to the public. The dregs of society should not be allowed anywhere near to our elected leaders. We all have the right to hear what our leaders have to say without teenagers and early 20 yr. old somethings, no doubt some of them paid, screaming them down. My younger sister told me when she was in college, she always went to the hippie demonstrations because it was party time and fun. That is a lot of what we are seeing here and it should be contained to spaces other than our tax payer provided government offices. Our society now has too many uncivilized and ignorant people to allow them free run in government spaces. We do not allow a nativity scene on public property or a cross on the neck of a child at school. Why would we allow insulting, uncivilized and disrespectful behavior in the most public of our institutions..The government?

I agree. There seems to be a serious security problem in Congress when Senators can get confronted this way by angry leftists. They screen people for guns and knives, but someone who wants to do harm and can a great deal of damage with a ball point pen or their fists. Its anarchy.

WHY aren’t the Capitol Police keeping these activists OUT of the Congressional building? They are proving to be far from polite & I don’t understand WHY they are not prevented from getting so close to the Senators & staff.
