Two Key Republicans (Flake, Collins) Signal Satisfaction With F.B.I.’s Kavanaugh Inquiry
New York Times ^ | October 4, 2018 | Nicholas Fandos and Sheryl Gay Stolberg

WASHINGTON — Two key undecided senators signaled Thursday that they are satisfied with the F.B.I.’s investigation into allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, and Senate Republican leaders were increasingly confident that he would be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Senators Jeff Flake of Arizona and Susan Collins of Maine did not say that they will vote for Judge Kavanaugh, President Trump’s second Supreme Court nominee. But after a closed-door briefing in which Republicans were told that no witnesses corroborated the accounts of Judge Kavanaugh’s main accusers, both made positive remarks. A yes vote from both would secure Judge Kavanaugh’s seat on the highest court in the land.

“It appears to be a very thorough investigation, but I am going back later today to personally read the interviews,” Ms. Collins said. “That’s really all I have to say right now.”

Mr. Flake told reporters, “We’ve seen no additional corroborating information.”

During the briefing, which lasted nearly an hour, Republican aides went through 46 pages of interview reports, nine of them devoted to a single witness: Mark Judge, a friend and high school drinking buddy of Judge Kavanaugh whom Dr. Blasey said was present when the future judge tried to rape her during a high school gathering when they were teenagers, most likely during in the summer of 1982.

Democrats tried to keep up the pressure, challenging the legitimacy of the investigation. They said the F.B.I., at the White House’s direction, had left key witnesses off the interview list and left leads unexplored.

“What I can say is the most notable part of this report is what’s not in it,” Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, told reporters at a brief appearance in the Capitol.

[Flake will vote no, mark my words.]

Yup, as will Collins. This public statement about them being “satisfied” with the FBI report is a signal to the Dems and their financiers to break out their checkbooks....

“Republican aides went through 46 pages of interview reports”

45 pages of which probably said “refer to previous 6 investigations” no doubt.

Not so fast! Fox is reporting the Flake might be flaking out, he is returning to the SCIF room for more thorough reading.........bring in the clowns for another elevator encounter, so Flakey can change his mind.

Flake: “no additional corroboration”. This is careful wording. It clearly implies it still has merit just no new evidence. It is a long way from saying vindication for Kavenaugh. Therefore I’m betting flake is a no. I am afraid Graham knows something which is why he made then 1 vote short remark. I think Murkowski is going to stab us in the back. She takes boatloads of money from PP. She is a Rat and the GOP is to blame for her being there. They helped her big time in a write in when the tea party candidate won the primary.

I predict violence today. Somewhere.

I predict that SOROS activists will start burning down their own neighborhoods. Again.

Yes Dianne, what is most notable is what is not in the report; corroboration of the baseless accusations made by Ford.

Murkowski is crass. It will take either a massive threat, or bucks.

“...the most notable thing about this report is what’s not in it.” Translation: none of the lies we planted are in it! Prove me wrong!
Thankfully, the democrats have made such an egregious show of their monstrous partisanship, that they’ve shown their evil underbelly to the entire country, and have totally blown it. Their “prove a negative” routine is exposed for what it is -— a horrendous attempt to destroy a good man.

Love how he is grandstanding in his final curtain call.

He is such a wimp....there in no way he’ll go down with that sinking ship.

He’s a yes.....please.... with sugar on top.

So the purpose of the NY Slimes article was to focus anger and protest on two Republican Senators as opposed to reporting the truth. I am not surprised.

“when the future judge tried to rape her”

Note how they throw that in when even Chrissy didn’t say that.

Flake was always a no. This is the very last act of poltical significance in his life. He is done after this Senate term so he simply cannot give up his chance to give Trump the finger one last time

The others, well they want to have a poltical future so they better wake the up. All they need to do is take a look at the polls.

I predict it with be 50-50 with Pence casting the tie breaker. Flake simply will NOT do the right and honorable thing because his infantile cowardly ego is out of control.

I predict that SOROS activists will start burning down their own neighborhoods. Again.

Back in '65, they burned down Watts, where they lived, and not Beverly Hills. Doesn't make much sense to me...but who am I to ask why?

“Ho much you wanna bet he gets at least two democrat votes?”

Only if their vote is not needed. If there are 2 no GOP votes. There is not one Rat that will to vote to save him.
Bank it, bet your first born.
