State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. plans to permanently close its Tampa operations center, cutting 59 jobs in the process.
The insurer notified the state Department of Economic Opportunity on Sept. 27 of its plans. It will close the Tampa center and a portion of its Jacksonville operations center, according to the letter to the DEO. The Jacksonville closure will affect 100 jobs.
The Tampa jobs affected include auto claims representatives, claim processors, claim service assistants and more.
The last I looked, the main HQ was staying there in IL, and presumably the C-level folks, but all the ops are moving to the 3 locations I noted above.
Saw him do it live a year or so ago, fun stuff
I’ve lived in my home and had State Farm for over 20 years without ever filing a claim. Recently noticed that roof had a leak. State farm is willing to pay 1/3rd of the cost to fix which is $50 below my 2,500 deductible. I can’t drop them fast enough.
I can’t wait to get rid of State Farm. Wanted to do it years ago, but wife was loyal to our agent. Not anymore.
