You are correct. Flake is too damn stupid to realize it. Grassley should have held the vote at 9AM. He is a slow learner.
Whatever Flake’s position, he has enabled the possibility of some deep state mischief from the FBI to punish Trump. The FBI has one week to dig up new “witnesses” or even start asking for “more time” several times until after the midterms. This is Flake’s middle finger to Trump on his way out the door.
