Maybe, but not necessarily. They may have threatened something like harm to his family or hurt his outside business interests, or see to it he gets a ‘sexual impropriety’ allegation all his own if he doesn’t give in.
Or Flake is about to become very wealthy. He is not running for reelection and the Left could easily give him a golden path with K Street jobs, think tank gigs and being put of various Boards of Directors.
