If this happened exactly as she claims (I don't believe it happened at all) it would be a felony third degree offense in Maryland and there would be no statute of limitations. Of course, Kavanaugh would have been a juvenile at the time.

Committees are there to filter, investigate and affirm that legislation and confirmations go to the full Senate. Yes, it's a Senate rule, but rules are meant to be broken in the Senate and in this case, it will. You don't think that McConnell has done the whipping for votes and knows he has at least 50. He can lose Flake and one of the other useless hags and still win. But this will leave the committee and oh boy when Trumpo has the muzzle off on this.
