According to McConnell even if by chance it doesn’t get voted out of committee it will still go to the full senate"

Bingo! What is lost here in all the pearl clutching. The constitution mentions nothing about committees confirming Judges, just the Senate. Committees are there to filter, investigate and affirm that legislation and confirmations go to the full Senate. Yes, it's a Senate rule, but rules are meant to be broken in the Senate and in this case, it will. You don't think that McConnell has done the whipping for votes and knows he has at least 50. He can lose Flake and one of the other useless hags and still win. But this will leave the committee and oh boy when Trumpo has the muzzle off on this. Look out. he knows Sun Tzu better than anyone about aggravating your enemies. Not to mention the Dems chose this Hill to die on. They lost any chance of taking back both House with this, done, finished.

You are so right. In the end this is going to be about Mitch McConnell refusing to let the Democrats eff-up the judicial confirmation process for all time.

I was greatly encouraged by how angry he was the other day. If he is putting himself out there like this he knows he already has the votes.

I don’t care for the man but give him his due, he’s been solid on judicial nominations.
