He probably kept calendars because that's the kind of thing they teach to future leaders who go to exclusive "preparatory" high schools.

They're being "prepared" for future public office, and one of the things they're probably taught to do is keep calendars. It might have been a class assignment, too, and counted towards his grade.

Two of my grandsons go to an exclusive private school and I doubt they could find 2 matching socks in the morning. Keeping calendars like that and for that long takes a certain kind of discipline. Good for Kavanaugh, if true.

I think that’s the thing. Hoity-toity prep schools where all males are being groomed for high positions, even POTUS, would stress keeping detailed schedule notes.

For a long time, students have been encouraged in their orientations to University to keep planners/calendars; I don’t doubt this has also been encouraged in college-prep high school studies.
