Christine Ford Meets Deadline By Not Agreeing To Terms
Hot Air ^ | September 22,2018 | JAZZ SHAW

The deadline in question was not an offer to extend negotiations. We’ve already heard the answer that Ford is busy, dealing with intrusions and all the rest. She has had plenty of time to prepare for a trip to provide testimony that she requested. The meeting is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Washington, D.C. Given the way the committee has bent over backward, offering her multiple settings, including flying out to hear her testimony in California, with no need to travel, this is preposterous.

The way things have been going thus far, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Grassley wind up opening a new line of negotiations over the evening, but he shouldn’t do it. If Ms. Ford thinks she’ll have trouble getting to Washington by Monday afternoon, I assure you that we could find a donor with a private jet who will fly her. If all they want to do is stall more (which is all the Democrats want out of this dog and pony show) then there’s a far better answer that the committee chair could give.

The hearing is already scheduled. Ford needs to go first because it’s ridiculous to expect the accused to answer charges that the accuser hasn’t even made. Then both sides can be considered. But since the hearing is already scheduled, if she doesn’t show up, allow Kavanaugh to make a brief statement in his own defense and move on to the vote. And after the committee has voted, hold the floor vote on Thursday as already planned. It’s really as simple as that.

Re: Grassley can't risk losing Flake, Collins, Murkowski, Corker....

This is why Grassley has been bending over backwards.

The Republican feminist politicians on the following list would vote to confirm out of fear of losing elections, but they want Kavanaugh to withdraw or to delay the process until after the elections.

According to this Democrat publication tracking senators for the the left, the following Republicans (who bow to the feminist left) want more information and to hear testimony from Blasey and Kavanaugh.

Roy Blunt (R-MO)

Susan Collins (R-ME)

Bob Corker (R-TN)

Jeff Flake (R-AZ)

Graham (R-SC)

Charles Grassley (R-IA)

Orrin Hatch (R-UT)

Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)

And Grassley is letting this schmuck run the show..honestly I think the bottom line is, they don’t have the votes to confirm him, I think its really that simple..from what Im hearing, Flake will vote “Present” if given the chance, that’s the same as voting NO

If there is still the concept of presumption of innocence, there is no reason not to proceed with the vote. If Ford wants to take action at a later date, that is within her discretion. VOTE!!!

And that right there is the problem..Flake is basically a NO vote..its looking more bleak that Kavanaugh will ever get confirmed..Flake is sending his final FU to Trump by doing this

The ambulance chasers phrase their letter like the Senate Judiciary Committee accepts the veracity of the accusations.

‘Ole Grass’ forgot to add ‘final offer’ on his note. Actually, he left it off on purpose.

"I really hope she gives a specific date when the party took place, and it turns out Judge Kavanaugh was on a trip to Europe with his parents at the time."

I think you now see why she cannot recall the time and place of this incident. She is full of crap.

I'm sure they are scouring Kavannaugh's own history to find a good date to use. Has he stated whether he even knew her or not?

Grassley should not respond now.

Right. As I stated in another post, “the best response is no response”. The offer was made; now let it stand.

Subpoena the creep and tell her she can either show up and tell her story or rather than picking her up we will merely go to the committee vote when she does not show. Unless of course the Dems on the committee want to force her to testify and vote to pick her up.

“Christine Ford Meets Deadline By Not Agreeing To Terms”

Grassley has been played. I am stunned at how inept he and his team are. These people are midgets. Is this the best we have in the Senate? Pitiful.

The only thing I can think to say in his favor: he is probably being held hostage by that woman from Maine and that woman from Alaska. President Trump - all of us - can't afford two R defections by R defectives. Maybe Grassley is being forced to look weak and humiliate himself in hopes of getting 51 votes.

We are so close to disaster.

THEY don’t have any intention of fulfilling ‘any promise’, it is always the dangling of “she will testify’ till end of Trump’s term(s).

END THIS FARCE! VOTE AS IF Feinstein and CBF don’t count.

Not a single Dem will confirm Brett Kavanaugh any way. Any Republican(s) vote against BK will answer to the people who voted them in, except for Corker and Flake.

“Jeff Flake, who has been going along with Democrat efforts to delay testimony from Kavanaugh’s accuser, is preparing to vote “present” on Kavanaugh when his nomination comes to a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee, per sources.”

Then just send the nomination up to the full senate for an up-or-down vote, without any recommendation from the committee.
