Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono (D.) said Democrats could keep the open seat on the Supreme Court vacant until after the 2020 election if Brett Kavanaugh's nomination collapses and Democrats regain control of the Senate in November.
Hirono pointed to the long vacancy of Antonin Scalia's former seat as a justification for holding off on confirming any nominee from President Donald Trump. When Barack Obama was president and Republicans held the Senate, Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell did not hold a vote on Obama's nominee Merrick Garland, and Hirono said Democrats could do the same if they had the Senate.
"I think we’ve had those kinds of vacancies before, and we certainly had over a one-year vacancy with Merrick Garland," Hirono told Politico Magazine. "So the world does not come to an end because we don’t fill all of the nominees."

Regardless of how this plays out, the Constitution is no longer a controlling or limiting document for our rulers in DC (and I count republicans in that group, not just Dems).
That’s a situation that cannot last long-term. Maybe a few presidential terms. Possibly a couple of generations. Depends on how much abuse the rulers want to dish out and how much abuse our education system can convince “we the people” to put up with.

This wahine is new to the Senate and has not learned to keep her mouth shut about the real democrat goals. Instead, she is supposed to talk about fairness, democracy, women’s rights, full investigation, etc. etc.
Now that she has let the cat out of the bag, The Senate needs to proceed to a vote. That vote will likely cost a few democrat Senate seat no matter how those threatened Senators vote. That will ensure that the little wahine can go back to selling leis at the Honolulu airport.

mea culpa. I’m not a subject matter expert when it comes to strains of hawaiian pot — or any other pot, for that matter. I defer to your (presumably) deeper knowledge of the drug industry. ultimately, I just threw a couple of words together that I thought would express the idea. and, apparently, it worked; even your weirdly pretentious correction indicated that you understood my point.
(although — not that I’m one of those “I am never wrong” people — a quick google indicates that “hawaiian gold is indeed a strain of pot)
