I used to look at those "men going their own way" guys as a little sad. To avoid women altogether because you're scared of one being a nut that ruins you somehow seemed like they were denying themselves some of the greatest joys of life because they were scared of some possible future that would likely never happen (well, getting bankrupted by divorce is a real thing but still...)

But man, if I were in my 20s right now I'd be thinking really hard about how I interact with women anymore. This stuff is getting out of hand.
