Under no circumstances should anyone be asked to deny accusations under oath that were not made under oath.

If "Betty" Ford doesn't show up to testify, her accusations should be considered completely inoperative -- which is exactly what the FBI did.

Grassley already said no hearing if she is a no-show.

Asked whether there would be a hearing if Ford did not agree to appear, Grassley suggested he couldn’t see a reason to hold one.

“What would be the purpose of the hearing if Dr. Ford doesn’t want to respond?” Grassley said.
