Climate change is making hurricanes way more intense
NY Post ^ | Sept. 17, 2018 | AP

Posted on 09/17/2018 3:32:04 PM PDT by Innovative

A warmer world makes for nastier hurricanes. Scientists say they are wetter, possess more energy and intensify faster.

Their storm surges are more destructive because climate change has already made the seas rise. And lately, the storms seem to be stalling more often and thus dumping more rain.

Study after study shows that climate change, in general, makes hurricanes worse. But determining the role of global warming in a specific storm such as Hurricane Florence or Typhoon Mangkhut is not so simple — at least not without detailed statistical and computer analyses.

Hey this is no laughing matter it turns this hurricane into a rain bomb.

Harvey's winds and storm surge didn't hurt Houston, it was the rain bomb.

Hurricanes are not more intense.

I heard there was one year in the 1880’s when 19 hurricanes hit the U.S. mainland in s single hurricane season.

The hurricanes only seem more intense because the areas that are prone to hurricanes are much more built up and heavily populated then they were many years ago.

Now, there are many more buildings to risk damage or destruction then they were 100 - 120 years ago.

LOL....it went from a Cat 4 with winds of 140 mph to Cat 2 at best and then Cat 1 with winds of 80 mph at landfall....while going over warmer water.

Just goes to show, Prayer Works!
Thank you Jesus!

Does the climate change propaganda machine run like this in other countries, or just in the USA?

They call this science: “Way more intense.”

The worst Hurricanes since weather satellites were launched...in 1979 and later. Please disregard the Hurricanes from the 1930s, and from the 50s and 60s. We can’t actually measure them.

Global warming makes hurricanes stall in place? Let’s see the research on that that existed prior to hurricanes stalling in place.

Hurricanes are not dependent on the warmth of the ocean or the atmosphere, but on the *differentials* (See Sandy, which was so big not because the ocean or atmosphere was warmer than usual, but because it hit a cold front). If the cold places warm, that leads to less of a differential.

Further, it hasn’t been long since the warmists were decreeing that global warming would cause massive droughts, and the skeptics were asserting that a warmer world was a wetter world.

A few of there predictions will come true - primarily because they are all over the board.

Where is the report and study which states this? How long has this study been underway?

Katrina’s destructiveness was mostly corrupt Democrats siphoning off levee maintenance and building funds. The Hurricane had mostly passed by when the levees without proper footings failed.

Always an excuse. But I remember a week ago, it was a full on monster hurricane coming, 80 foot waves, the whole thing.

Don’t care if the Planet is Warming or Cooling... We (Mankind) has nothing to do with it and cannot change it.
PS I prefer Warming... a lot fewer Bikinis with Cooling

Total nonsense. Recent hurricanes have been less frequent and less intense. Natural variability. We don’t have enough data to make any kind of connection between a small set of hurricanes and human activity.

As hurricanes go, Florence was a relative pussycat. Nothing startling, new, or earthshaking on how it behaved.

I would like to see the documentation for these statements.

You should be relieved. It could have been a charge more intense or even a heap. Heaven help us if it rises to the level of a passel or a crap load.

Yeah...

ONE - class ONE hurricane this year...

If anything, it’s getting milder.

No, it is not.

What we are seeing are God’s judgments on an unrepentant world.

I always like it when people who blindly believe in the global warming scam say, “Well, you only listen to Fox News”. Well, here’s the NY Post, Fox News’ written analog, promoting the sham as well.

Scary stories sell newspapers and commercials.
