You are exactly right.
Michael Savage made this point years ago; they were all in the same league, really not much if any difference between the Bushes, Clintons, Obama and McCain trading off the presidency as though it were an entitlement. The years between the end of Reagan’s presidency (1989) and the beginning of Trump’s (2017) will be seen as the longer version of the Fillmore (1850) to Buchanan failed presidencies (1861). Wasted opportunities and feckless leaders.
