Meghan McCain took a number of swipes at President Trump on Saturday in a eulogy for her father John McCain -- who sparred with Trump on a number of occasions before his death last week of brain cancer.
'The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great,' she said, in what appeared to a reference to Trump's presidential campaign slogan: "Make America Great Again."
She also said that her father's passing represented the passing of "American greatness. The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege while he suffered and served."
McCain was being remembered at a memorial service in Washington National Cathedral, attended by former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Trump, a week after the Arizona Republican died at age 81 after a battle with brain cancer.

Excellent post!
There is ‘white privilege’. This tart is a pimple on US.
“Andrew Cuomo was unavailable for comment...”
Exactly. Is that also not a knock at Cuomo?
Shes as classy as her dad.
“Its like shes reading for a part as a senator or something...”
Wow. Listening to her, the thought crossed my mind that she may be appointed to vacant Senate seat. Praying the Gov of Arizona has more sense than to do this or to name Mrs McCain to the seat.

“Why would you make this day about Trump? It sounds bitter and jealous.”
I agree. Very tasteless. I guess her father taught her well. NOT!
I will say those McCain’s sure can hole a grudge. John goes to his grave without making please with Sarah Palin. He blamed her for his loss of the Presidential race. Now the rest of the family is bitter over Trump. Ya know, anger is a bitter poison that will cause an early death. Oh, and continued anger and lack of forgiveness can at times cause disease (I.e., cancer, etc.).
I saw the tail end of her speech. She was tearful.
Meghan, ....
Nope, not going to do it.

[[Praying the Gov of Arizona has more sense than to do this]]
please please PLEASE Arizona- Wake up! Vote for an actual republican this time- now’s your chance- Please don’t stick this country with another few decades of faux republicans like the McCains
Trump already cut a deal with Ducey, there’s no way.
Meghan most certainly cried at both of the funeral rites - in Arizona and in DC.
Cindy has made of number of nasty comments about Trump. In one tweet she said Trump was bullying people. Coming from the wife of one of the nastiest political bullies ever, that statement is just ludicrous.
Did the fat lady sing yet?
What an inappropriate get-up Meghan is wearing...not an ounce of class in that family.
McCain who?
“Theyre all such good friends. They all get along so well. Good God weve been SO played for so long. McCains, Bushes, Obamasall one and the same”.
You are exactly right.
>>On the other hand, and mark my words, I believe President Trump is raking up one achievement after another, all positive and beneficial to this Great Country what will be well remembered and recorded in the annals of history.<<
At the risk of raining on your parade I have to mention that the annals of history are even now being revised, and two recent events attest to that sad fact. A movie was just produced about the the first manned moon landing, but the producers purposely did not depict the erection of the American flag by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. And, as we are all witness to, the iconoclastic destruction of American memorials is specifically done for purposes of historical revisionism.
>>>The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great<<<
Sounds to me like she was dissing Fredo Cuomo, not the POTUS.
Yeah, I know better. She wouldn’t go after anyone in her Late Father’s Political Party...
Amazing how they don’t see their own hypocrisy. Many speakers at the funeral preaching of unity and bipartisanship...yet, they take blatant jabs at Pres Trump. Apparently, their definition of ‘bipartisan’ is do as I say, not as I do.
Very sad to have learned that some I worked hard to elect lean left.
