More Floridians have voted before Tuesdays elections than in past primaries, yet hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots have not been returned by voters.
Nearly 1.86 million votes had been cast as of Monday morning, with almost 1.2 million vote-by-mail ballots returned and another 658,800 ballots cast at early-voting sites, according to the Florida Department of State.
Florida has 13 million registered voters.
Two years ago, 1.82 million votes were cast before the primary. In 2014, the number was 1.2 million.
Democrats, with a weekend surge in, cast 317,499 ballots at early-voting locations and had submitted 491,810 vote-by-mail ballots.
Republicans had accounted for 557,121 votes by mail and 296,585 early votes. People registered with third parties or who are unaffiliated accounted for 44,716 early votes and 150,077 votes through the mail.
At the same time, nearly 1.39 million requested vote-by-mail ballots had not been returned to elections supervisors, including more than 1 million to voters of the two major parties.

These numbers are probably very helpful if you need to “find ballot boxes” a day or two after the polls close.
Democrats are good at making Republican votes disappear and Democrat votes miraculously appear.. especially after the election.
“Muh blue wave”
Get tired of the defeatism. These are PRECINCTS.
No one would have any idea where the precinct advantages are, let alone have time to “stuff” ballot boxes.
Republicans bested Democrats by about 45,000 votes, this year, 2018, which is unusual, because Democrats usually prefer to exercise heavy early and mail-in voting. In the 2016 POTUS election Democrats out voted Republicans in the early voting by 70,000 votes. Of course, Republican, Trump carried Florida with a 100,000 vote victory margin.
Of course....the final vote tallies from the real election day, today, are made up from Democrats, Republicans, Others and Unaffiliated voters, who cannot vote in Republican & Democrat Primaries in Florida.
Tonight’s voting results should be interesting and might show the trend of either a blue or red political wave, upcoming in the Mid-Term Election.
IMHO...I believe the Republicans will have a good night tonight, fielding a very tough Rick Scott & Ron DeSantis for Senator & Governor. If both win their primaries, they will become Senator and Governor on Election day, November 6, 2018. I also believe our Republican, Congressman, the talented, gifted, Brian Mast will prevail this evening and the general election in November.
All Florida eligible voters should turn out today and vote for Governor, Rick Scott, Congressman, Ron DeSantis & Congressman, Brian Mast for Senator, Governor & Congressman. All three have been endorsed by POTUS, Trump. Go, Trump, Go, Scott, Go, Desantis, Go, Mast, Go, MAGA. Folks....GET OUT & VOTE, Republican TODAY!!!
Senators don’t take their seats in Nov but in January. Florida’s Governor is likely similar.
Senators don’t take their seats in Nov but in January. Florida’s Governor is likely similar.
You are correct. They would assume their seats or elective office in early January, 2019.
I agree - I really surprised with the early voting trend - could be Red Tide rising !!!
What the hell, why not have EVERY day and election day throughout the year and count the winners at midnight Dec. 31st? The do away with the “every” election day. Gives the demodummies an opportunity to vote as many times and they need. At one time, election day really meant something.
“””However, in 2014, there were only three statewide primaries as Gov. Rick Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and former Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, all Republicans, sought re-election.
Two of the statewide primaries were Democratic races for governor and attorney general. Meanwhile, Scott had two primary challengers who combined to receive less than 13 percent of the vote.”””
The fact that the Governor, Attorney General, and Agriculture Commissioner races in 2018 are highly contested by both Republicans and Democrats probably accounts for the large increase in early voting compared to 2014.
Hopefully, the turnout will also be high today.
Ok.. I should have written.. ‘after_A_election’ not ‘after_THE_election’.
No defeatism here.. We still manage to WIN inspite of Democrat election and voter fraud.
The term for a Florida Governor begins on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January after the November election.
I certainly hope and pray so!!! Fact is: POTUS. Donald J. Trump is massively popular in Florida and Arizona...too!!! Unlike President George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, G.W. Bush, Barack Hussein Obama, a POTUS, Trump political endorsement carries much weight. We shall all see if that holds true within a few hours.
Early voting is a sham. Created to steal elections.
Is there an AZ Primary thread??
GOP turned out about 114,000 more than Ds.
Ds led by DinoBernie nominated a crazed socialist under investigation by the FBI. Can you say George McGovern?
Amazing how Ds are turning out “record” numbers and yet losing all these races.
