Ah, Darling,

Yes, traveling, neither to Paradise, nor to the grands, but to Orlando. Wycliffe has headquarters here and I’m at a conference. I don’t do the Disney thing, or any of the theme park stuff. That stuff used to interest me but no longer. This conference is for those of returning from our overseas work can debrief our experiences among each other. The staff here is very good in walking us through good and bad reflections, listening without judging, and helping us transition to what is really for us another foreign culture. Although the US is our home culture, it has changed since we left and we need to be aware of our need to be sensitive and adapt. For example, at the airport in Atlanta, we totally missed a cue from the counter check-in person. At the last moment, I deciphered what she had really said and was able to make it right. FWIW, tipping is not done very much in other countries.

We saw our newest grand earlier this month. Not for long, but that was all the time their sked, and ours, could eke out. Then, in October, we’ll get a visit from the youngest and her brood.

I have been following Lucy’s story. You’ve done a good thing, rescuing her from certain death and showing her love.

There are lots of changes going on in the fam right now. Fortunately, they are all good.

We will be visiting a lot of people in the next two months. We have reporting to do as well as a bit of support raising. For me, there are periodic doctor visits, too. No treatment is planned. There is a lot of blood work as the lymphoma needs to be monitored. At the present time, I am cleared to return to Paradise in August of 2019.
