Rather than God’s forgiveness, he should beg for forgiveness from those who have been hurt by the neglect of this horrendous problem.

Bergoglio has a very strong theme of "mercy" for wrongdoers --especially clerical wrongdoers, "Who am I to judge?"--- a sentimental and manipulative "mercy" which ends up sliding into error and siding with the wreckers.
Then making a long, sad-like, soulful face and asking for forgiveness.
There's a saying from the Talmud that "Those who are kind to the cruel, in the end will be cruel to the kind."
I think that's true.

This guy has been a disaster from the start - he needs to go no matter how sincere his begging is.
