Dublin (AFP) - Pope Francis "begged for God's forgiveness" on Sunday for multiple abuse scandals within the Irish church but faced accusations by a former Vatican official that he had personally ignored allegations against senior clergy.

In front of 45,000 supporters at the rain-soaked Knock shrine in the west of Ireland, the pope sought forgiveness over the "open wound" of the church's sexual abuse scandal and demanded "firm and decisive" measures to find "truth and justice".

At a later Mass to tens of thousands of flag-waving worshippers at Dublin's Phoenix Park, the showpiece event of the two-day visit to the former Catholic stronghold, he also confessed to other abuses by the Irish church, including at its so-called "mother and baby" homes.

But in the city centre around 5,000 abuse victims and their supporters braved the weather to attend the "Stand for Truth" rally.

God the Father, through Jesus Christ, forgives those who REPENT!

Not those who enable, cover-up and practice abominable sin incessantly.

It is apparent Francis is not smart enough to perceive the existential threat to the Catholic Church. Or does not care.

It's also apparent there is a very large number of Catholics which do not mind swimming in toilet scum.

Rather than God’s forgiveness, he should beg for forgiveness from those who have been hurt by the neglect of this horrendous problem.

Pope Francis has admitted more than once that he intends a "New Paradigm" for the Catholic Church, necessarily predicated on the weakening/abolition of the "Old Paradigm," i.e. traditional Catholicism.

He either wants to convert or manipulate us to lose our attachment to real Catholicism, or replace present Catholics with others with quite different beliefs.

He IS the "existential threat."

Bergoglio has a very strong theme of "mercy" for wrongdoers --especially clerical wrongdoers, "Who am I to judge?"--- a sentimental and manipulative "mercy" which ends up sliding into error and siding with the wreckers.

Then making a long, sad-like, soulful face and asking for forgiveness.

There's a saying from the Talmud that "Those who are kind to the cruel, in the end will be cruel to the kind."

I think that's true.

Isn’t this the guy who said “Who are we to judge??” about homosexuals?

Looks like a lot of NON-judgement regarding, homosexuality, sexual sin and perversion has been taking place, in a lot of Diocese in the Catholic world.

“Who am I to judge?” could be read to mean “which classes of people should I judge?”. It’s a question that might be asked by someone who wishes to pass judgment on some, and forego it for others.

Resign first. You are primarily a marxist. Your main mode of thought is marxist. Your actions are marxist. You are not worthy of being pope. Vacate the Chair of Peter, and let Cardinal Sarah take your place. Oh, before you go, fire all the gay cardinals, bishops and priests. And what about the gay orgy with the cardinals in the Vatican! eh? you made sure that was suppressed in the media.

That’s wonderful.

Now about that whole celibacy thing...think that might be a bit of the problem?

And cast out the faggotry forthwith.

It's clear that the Church has been infiltrated at the highest levels by homosexuals and globalists with the intent of destroying Her.

The Church is the keystone in the arch of Judeo Christian Western Civilization and without it the greatest society the world has yet produced fades away.

This Pope appears to be one of those sent to destroy.

when a large portion of the world’s largest God worshiping organization act as they do not believe in God, then it might be time for a purge, or at least a review to see how far from their roots the church has become

I am not a Catholic. I usually respect any beliefs of FReepers as to religion.

Pope Francis insulted President Trump, called his actions un Christian and opposed him harshly.

My saying: Thou shalt not speak ill of Donald Trump.

(In case 1 person doesn’t already know this, I jokingly paraphrased Ronald Reagan about fellow Republicans and we all violate that “commandment” daily).
I filter everything in my mind through politics.
54% of Catholics overall voted for Trump in 2016. I like you 54% but feel sorry for you about your Pope.

The first order of business is to bust all of the queers out of the priesthood completely. Allow none to remain as priests. That is paramount!

There's an old saying about "there's a special place in Hell for..." that seems to be particularly appropriate in cases like this.

Maybe the Lord will forgive him, but the millions of Catholics who feel disgraced, misled and lied to may not.
