Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate, called her former running mate Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) a maverick and a fighter in a statement after his death Saturday afternoon. Today we lost an American original. Sen. John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self, she said.
John McCain was my friend. I will remember the good times. My family and I send prayers for Cindy and the McCain family.

I agree. Extreme jealousy.
“Never took the easy path”? Bullshit.
Was flying around the world with his family on Keating’s dime while Keating bilked billions from Americans.
Wellstone Memorial Part Deux. Blech.
And same type cancer....
glioblastomas
He's dead, Sarah. You can share the bad times now, too. There is no longer a need to keep up the loyalty, especially for has handlers.
Palin is way too classy. What McCain and the left did to her is disgusting.
“dissenter, dissident, enfant terrible; informalcowboy, loose cannon, bad boy “...not all good.
But the Establishment uses the word Maverick as a GOOD thing.
We need courageous leaders who will call it as it is, not play cute little word tricks (if that is what she is doing) using it to connote something bad. That would be underhanded and inappropriate.
Speak for yourself, Sarah.
That’s the nice thing about Sarah, we know she will do just that.
Yeah, but McCain got exposed in how he dealt with the crisis.
Rather than push for the kind of reforms that conservatives support as part of the package, he completely surrendered in the hopes that it would show he could work with the other side.
It was a disgusting display of haming the cameras and a wild competition in trying to show the public how they could get together to solve a crisis.
Not by using the word “we”, she doesn’t.
I didn’t lose anything.
True, but it demotivated the group of people that was paying attention, especially people of a libertarian bent.
You left out the big one - 'SONGBIRD'
Not a “maverick” but a “ring knocker”. A maverick is an officer that came up through the enlisted ranks.
Sorry, cannot agree with that. We do not need that kind of original who cares more about himself than anything else.
Original?
I pray there isn’t two.
Thank you Sarah
Quite gracious, all things condidered.
