The man was a disreputable, dishonorable, self-serving scumbag, with a mercurial, vindictive nature. In short, he was a first class bastard, who wouldn't hesitate to stab a colleague (or constituent) in the back, if he felt slighted by them.

He earned every ounce of spittle being hurled his way today.

As I said; I am a staunch Conservative, aware of all he as done, and certainly no fan, but maybe we should let the old man rest in peace.
