When in hospice care they basically increase the morphine to essentially kill the patient.
Watched a relative die that way.
The people I have known who died from cancer are given a morphine drip to ease the pain and keep them “comfortable” at the end. The drip is regulated by a push button strapped to the patient’s hand so they can push the button as often as they desire. Family is sometimes instructed to push the button if they are not conscious and moan or otherwise show signs of being in pain
Many families, knowing that the end is near and not wanting their loved one to suffer pushes the button frequently
All food and water are stopped. So dehydration becomes another issue Kidneys shut down etc.
