I used to work in HR. We used e-verify. The thing about it is if it comes back to not verify the person is legal, you cant fire them, you have to notify the government and wait for them to give you the ok. It explicitly says you cannot fire them. In our area it was not an issue and we never had a bad one come back but we did get the training and I always thought that was weird, what’s the use of it if you cant fire them.
I never knew that...I agree, that is very odd.
Never having one come back, either? Only two choices there...perhaps the word gets around and they simply don’t go there to risk being rejected (good) or the system is a sham (bad!)
