Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for open recognition of the Catholic churchs homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse. I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church, Burke said in an interview Thursday, especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously.
he former head of the churchs equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men.
There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this, he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

And IGNORING them identifies a 'believer' in the church, based in that enclave, in Rome.
Another Mormon apologist trait.
You wanna get on their badside; too?
If my post is so comical, you should be able to rebut the rest of it without any problem, especially with reference to Scripture, which I note that you haven’t referred to at all other than the typical Roman talking points.
The fact that you don’t suggests that you can’t.
Therefore my points stand, and Roman Catholicism is no kind of ‘One True Church’ because its theology contradicts the Apostles.
QED.
How does that work in Italy?
There are many problems with what you stated. One problem with what you have written; the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic split in 1,000 AD. So who was wrong in their teachings "according to the Sacred Tradition of the Church??
Now THIS is news!!
"One indeed is the universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved, in which the priest himself is the sacrifice, Jesus Christ, whose body and blood are truly contained in the sacrament of the altar under the species of bread and wine; the bread (changed) into His body by the divine power of transubstantiation, and the wine into the blood, so that to accomplish the mystery of unity we ourselves receive from His (nature) what He Himself received from ours."
--Pope Innocent III and Lateran Council IV (A.D. 1215)
26. "Gens quæ non servierit illi, peribit; gentes destitutæ tantæ Matris auxilio, destituuntur auxilio Filii et totius curi coelestis." De Laud. B. M. I. 4.
Cardinal Hugo http://fatima.org/crusader/cr38/cr38pg3.asp
Translation: "that those who do not serve Mary will not be saved; for those who are deprived of the help of this great Mother are also deprived of that of Her Son and of the whole court of heaven."
Like THIS??
Keep trying.
He’s GOT to run out of lipstick one of these days!
Ours don't!!!
--The seven (Catholic) churches in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea (We set a GOOD example!)
And we ain't ROMAN; either!!
Oh, poor us.
We're such martyrs.
Everyone hates us.
They're all such meanies.
We never did anything wrong.
Of boo hoo, poor us.
Oh wait a minute. Y'all can't claim the martyr cause y'all used the term for yourselves.
Pius XII, Humani Generis (27,28): "Some say they are not bound by the doctrine, explained in Our Encyclical Letter of a few years ago, and based on the Sources of Revelation, which teaches that the Mystical Body of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church are one and the same thing.[6] Some reduce to a meaningless formula the necessity of belonging to the true Church in order to gain eternal salvation...These and like errors, it is clear, have crept in among certain of Our sons."

And look at this one. By a pope.
BEFORE the Reformation.
Pope Eugene IV, Cantate Domino (1441): "The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the "eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41), unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church."
Pillars hold thins up and are not the thing itself.
The church is supposed to hold up the Truth, which is Jesus and the Word of God. They are not the source of truth.
Roman Catholicism is full of duplicity and lies and the shifting sands of human tradition disguised as *sacred tradition*.
It contradicts Scripture and disobeys Scripture as we see when they assign the title of *Father* to their priests and fail to rein in sin in their midst as per 1 Corinthians 5.
When Catholicism itself starts living what it demands of others, then MAYBE there’s some cause for it, and its members to point fingers. But until they take care of their own issues, they have nothing to say in criticism or condemnation of others. And certainly no right to claim themselves *holy* or the source of truth.
Oh boo hoo, let me play the world’s saddest tune on the world’s smallest violin just for him.
If they don’t like to be called Roman Catholic, then how about they leave the organization that calls itself Roman Catholic?
Sad.
Protestant "proofs" are either points no one disagrees with them, or peculiar interpretation of verses taken out of context. "Faith alone" is one such theological fantasy.Just to be clear...How do you think those within the Christian faith communities determined what were the major tenets of Christianity?
Why, the Catholic priests taught them according to the Sacred Tradition of the Church. Yes, they taught with the voice of Christ (John 10:27-28).
Is this an example of you "demolishing a protestant theological fantasy??"
If it is, I don't want anyone to miss it.
[psst.... by the way, all you did was make assertions without proof]
Assertions without proof are all they have.
This is what happens when someone belongs to an organization that teaches that people shouldn’t think for themselves and let the people in charge think for them.
Man!! Annalex demolished your arguments Luircin!!
You'd better learn those talking points. They are powerful!
Oh yes. I am so devastated that I have been reduced to laughter.
It is indeed usually a good idea to learn something about the subject you intend to opine - rather than parroting profuse RC propaganda. Here, if "Roman Catholic" is a Protestant slur invented to make Catholics foreigners in their English-speaking countries," by using the distinguishing term "Roman," then your church is guilty of making that distinction, even if usually, but not always, adding commas and "apostolic:"
Ubi Primum, Pope Leo XII, May 5, 1824: "By heart we believe and by mouth confess the one Church, not of heretics but the Holy Roman, Catholic , and Apostolic Church outside which we believe that no one is saved.
Vatican Council I (1870): "The holy, Catholic, Apostolic, Roman Church ..."
Pope Pius XII Mystici Corporis Christi (June 29, 1943): "this true Church of Jesus Christ - which is the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Roman Church ..."
Pope Pius XII, Humani Generis (12 August 1950): "the Mystical Body of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church are one and the same thing"
The "Roman" distinction even preceded the Reformation, and continued after it began:
Dictatus Papae (1075): "That the Roman church has never erred; nor will it err to all eternity, the Scripture bearing witness.
Pope Innocent III profession required of the Waldensians: With our hearts we believe and with our lips we confess but one Church, not that of the heretics, but the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church, outside which we believe that no one is saved. (Denzinger 423)
Bull Cantate Domino, by Pope Eugene IV, 1441: "The most Holy Roman Church..."
Exsurge Domine1 promulgated by Pope Leo X against Martin Luther: "the eminent cardinals of the holy Roman Church ."
QUO PRIMUM TEMPORE, 4 July 1570 "the Holy Roman Church .." Pope Paul IV, Cum Ex Apostolatus Officio of 1559: "the Holy Roman Church ..."
Non-Catholics can be saved and they can be lost.
You mean Prots who do not convert to the Catholic church at the end are not lost?
