Cardinal Burke: ‘Very Grave Problem of Homosexual Culture in the Church
Breitbart ^ | Nolte

Posted on 08/17/2018 8:40:24 AM PDT by wardaddy

Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for “open recognition” of the Catholic church’s homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse. “I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church,” Burke said in an interview Thursday, “especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously.”

he former head of the church’s equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already “clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men.”

“There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this,” he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

It’s obvious the church does not fully cooperate as they have done nothing but cover it up for decades, if not centuries.

Because I condemn the priests who molest minors and the hierarchy that covers it up?

You have a weird idea about what the work of Satan is.

The work of Satan has infested your church and it appears that you are so blind to it that you cannot tell right from wrong.

I sincerely wish them every success.

Unfortunately, the Vatican has been infested during multiple popes... and the priests are quite gayed.

Very much like Christ, if you read Scripture.

Condemning sin is not Christlike?

Who knew?

I guess Jesus is OK with the goings on in the Catholic church, right?

Cause HE never condemned sin or hypocrisy in the religious establishment, did He?

Of course he did, but you’re not Him, and obviously there are a few passages of Scripture you need to review just to refresh your memory, for instance Mt 6:14-15, Mt 7:1-5, and Jn 8:4-9. If you need more spiritual guidance I’ll be happy to refer you to several other passages. Spiritual pride is a very serious sin.

Oh puleeze, explain to me just how you are NOT now pointing fingers in condemnation for pointing fingers? This should be very entertaining.

Sin is sin and why shouldn’t we condemn it?

One doesn’t have to be Jesus to recognize sin and condemn sin.

Are you going to condemn what your priests did or the cover up by the church hierarchy?

Or are you OK with it?

Perhaps she was thinking of your chosen leader of the church.

Of course I condemn such behavior and have done so continuously for my entire life. But I certainly do not intend thereby to condemn Catholicism. Would you condemn America or all Americans because of the anti-American behavior of Obama and his cabal of American haters? I certainly hope not!

Here are a few passages of Scripture you need to review just to refresh your memory, for instance Mt 6:14-15, Mt 7:1-5, and Jn 8:4-9.

Matthew 6:14-15 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 7:1-5 English Standard Version (ESV)

1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

John 8:4-9 English Standard Version (ESV)

they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him.

You've seemed to have MISSED some.

Let me help you here...

Judge NOT???

Sigh...

Jesus has commanded us to judge!

"Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?... And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?... Do you not know that we shall judge angels?... How much more, things that pertain to this life?.. If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge ? (1 Corinthians 6:1-5).

Many commands of God require the exercise of righteous judgment.

"But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us" (2 Thessalonians 3:6).

"And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother" (2 Thessalonians 3:14,15).

"Teach and exhort these things. If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wrangling of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself" (2 Timothy 6:2b-5).

"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple" (Romans 16:17,18).

All these commands require the careful exercise of righteousness judgment. Do not be deceived by smooth words and flattering speech. Beware of wolves who come to you with a sheep's skin.

We must be careful not to make unqualified judgments. But we must judge appropriately when commanded to do so.

"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."  (John 7:24).
