And note, this is about STATE positions of marijuana, not federal edicts. Federalism, preserved.
Its illegal under Federal law regardless of State laws.
You can’t argue with dope smoking dopes.
They’re not amenable to reason.
Speaking as a person whose two brothers have been smoking dope since the 70s, I wish it wasnt legal. I watched as my two brothers succumbed to the lower standards of dopers. Neither had any ambition. Neither became a success story. There were 4 of us and we were all brought up in a Conservative home. I am the only Conservative that now mourns the destruction that a Leftist lifestyle has wrought on my siblings. Just say no to pot. And other recreational drugs.
Is defending whiskey a conservative position?
Anyone who things that THC (and cannaboids?) isn’t addictive either doesn’t know anyone who is “chronic” or is completely ignorant to their dependent behavior.
no
Legalize Weed and end up being California 2.
Jackboot lickers gotta lick. The same dolts who want weed illegal would have been behind prohibition with the same retarded arguments. thank God for State’s rights and hopefully the federal government will get out of the entire debate.
Not defending pot but it’s legalization or not is not a liberal versus conservative issue.....
That construct is a beard....
Full disclosure, never done pot or ever plan to....My vice is a nice glass of wine and a good cigar....
Alcohol is bad for you, Prohibition is worse.
Same thing here.
I’ve lost reletives to cancer from tobacco use and one uncle to booze.
Notice I meant DIED, not that they just became lazy people
Can we make that illegal too? Think we can spend billions on stoping all bad choices adults make?
Too long to read but I am 100% behind enforcing the federal prohibition on pot and rolling back state legalization. Get rid of it all. Protect and encourage companies and organizations to identify and fire pot users, anyone that illegally uses drugs. Purge it from society, make clear there are harsh consequences for possession and use.
I wonder if the voters had a choice to legalize the weed but criminalize the booze.
I would hope they would choose the weed..
Neither is advocating for the continuing of a failed prohibition on a substance that is no more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. I thought I was supposed to oppose a nanny state regulating every thing in my home or arbitrarily declaring things off limits.
The narration posted here could have substituted alcohol for every use of reference to mary jane and it would have read just as plausibly. I'll draw an analogy to Vietnam regarding the "War on (some) Drugs"... "an honorable people that did the best they could and end it on the best terms possible." I would like my 4th amendment rights back and an end to the asset forfeiture which the War on (some) Drugs destroyed and gave rise to.
Reasonable people can (and do) disagree on this subject.
As long as you ascribe it as being “manly” or attribute it to rural living, then you will have no end to the opposition to baning those things.
Alcohol has benefits. Used in moderation it is not bad. Smoking? Ban it today, get rid of it and the ridiculous vape alternatives.
It is NOT addictive beyond the few days that you are bummed out that you ran out.
alcohol on the other hand....
I do not believe in legal weed, but it seemed to me that the article was lumping weed in with all other drugs. Some of the horrible stories in the article are not necessarily attributable specifically to weed.
If Marijuana or other controlled substances are legalized,
the unemployment rate will sky rocket.
>> Many judges will be out of work
>> Many court bailiffs will be laid off
>> Many court clerks will be laid off
>> Many Cops who arrest pot smokers will be idle
>> Many Police personnel processing paper work will be idle
>> Many Lawyers on both sides..prosecutors and defense will be without work
>> Many prison guards will be out of work
>> Many catering service businesses serving prisons will be out of business
>> Workers in construction will have less prisons to build and maintain
>> Electric utilities will suffer less sales from reduced prison populations
Keep marijuana illegal, and help the economy! /S
