Republican State Sen. Troy Balderson, 56, eked out a win in Tuesdays down-to-the-wire special election to fill Ohios 12th congressional district after trailing Democrat Danny Lawyer much of the evening.
I thank the thousands and thousands of volunteers who worked in this campaign and I want to thank President Trump and Vice President Pence and the big shoes without whom I would not have gotten through this process, Congressman Pat Tiberi, said Balderson

A win is a win no matter how close.

Tell it to the media.
Every news report today makes it sound like a major loss - for President Trump.
I don’t I’ve EVER seen such blatant spinning on the part of the media, including Fox News.
If we lived in a world of real media, EVERY headline would read:
TRUMP’S CANDIDATES WIN EVERYWHERE
I smell attempted sabotage here .
Days, maybe weeks, to count 3000+ ballots?!!!!
PROVISIONAL BALLOT - the new hanging chad.
I think they would rather lose than have MAGA candidates win.
I’m sure 90% of them operate under the belief that once President Trump is no longer in office, some empty, stuffed suit globalist like Jeb! is going to step in and their personal wealth-enrichment program called the Republican party will continue to operate as if Trump never existed, and we’ll ALL go voting for the empty, stuffed suit because, after all, the RAT candidate is worse, isn’t he / she / it?
News at 11:00. It’s NEVER going to happen, GOP. Many of us hate you people as much as we hate the Democrats - maybe even more, because at least they’re worthy of respect for doing everything they can to win and not eating their own.
I think the GOPe wants to lose. They want trump impeached.
The Rs need to seize and hold the narrative; they won by nearly 2000 votes. Balderson’s opponent is refusing to concede, claiming the race is “tied”. They need to knock this one back, it is not a squeaker, the margin is nearly one percent and you lost, Mr. O’Connell.
I hope the good people of his district remind him daily so he doesnt forget via phone calls, letters and emails.
Every provisional ballot needs to be handled individually. Voters have a defined period to provide proof that they are entitled to vote. Some can be verified without an appearance, while others have to appear before election officials.

Ah, I get it.
That means if you voted Republican, you need to prove your genealogy by providing a DNA sample, twelve living relatives (with papers) to vouch for you, and proof that you don’t know anyone who has ever been associated with the Trump family, anyone Russian, or anyone who has ever been accused of anything, ever, by anyone.
If you’re a Democrat, you’ll have to show them you know how to breathe.*
* but only in the most extreme cases.
DAZI, now that’s good.
John Kasich and his fellow Dems lose another election.
I live in PA 18 and we had a terrible candidate when there was a tremendous female candidate, State Senator Kim Ward, that the party passed over. Us peons never got a chance to vote, and the fat assed party bosses picked one of their own, Rick Saccone, a candidate with as much magnetism as chuck schumer.
The demonRATs picked a young, smart telegenic fraud that promised he would work 'across the aisle'. So far, he has voted the party line 96% of the time.
I voted for him, but it left a bad taste, kinda like voting for mittens in 2012.
In the upcoming elections we will elect a good pubbie in my 'new' district but the demonRAT controlled courts, gerrymandered PA18 and several other districts out of existence.
The demonRATs look to pick up 2-4 congresscritters in PA because of the crooked courts.
“How much money did the DNC dump into this race?”
$1,000,000
How much did the R’s ‘invest?
$4,500,000.
I am a little surprised that this district is heavily Republican, given how gerrymandered it is. Typically that favors Dems.
Absolutely true and the morons in the GOP still haven't figured that out! I turned out for Trump in 2018, I turned out for MAGA, I did NOT turn out for the GOP and had it not been for the presence of Donald Trump on my ballot I probably wouldn't have voted for any republican...I am that disgusted with them.
If the GOP runs their traditional, tired old campaigns for the fall they will lose. Any republican in a close race who does not whole heartedly embrace the agenda of Donald Trump will deservedly lose.
So, Trump managed to produce something slightly better than a coin toss in a heavily Republican district.
Will he have to run again in November? If so, he needs to do a much better job of energizing voters to counter what I expect will be a larger dem fraud vote.
I hate them much more than the democrats. The democrats never lied to me about what they really believe. They never fail to hang together and fight. The non-MAGA GOPe is an embarrassment.
That's comforting to say after dodging a bullet in a one off event.
We are getting ready to run this experiment 435 times in just a few weeks. That's a lot of bullets to dodge.
AWEE look our lil Trumper hater.
