New Mexico: Police Find 11 Starving Children in Compound
BBC World News ^ | Aug. 6, 2018 | BBC Staff

Police in the US state of New Mexico have rescued 11 malnourished children who were being kept in squalid conditions in a remote desert compound.

They said the children, aged one to 15, had no shoes, were wearing rags and "looked like Third World refugees".

Five adults were found at the scene, including two heavily armed men.

Police searched the site after receiving a message from a third party that read: "We are starving and need food and water."

It is not clear how the group ended up at the compound in Amalia, near the state's border with Colorado.

Police described the compound as a small underground caravan covered by plastic, with no running water or electricity.

Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe told ABC News the children were hungry, thirsty and filthy.

"I've been a cop for 30 years. I've never seen anything like this. Unbelievable," he said. "They were skinny, their ribs showed, they were in very poor hygiene and very scared." No fresh water was found at the site, and the only food there was a few potatoes and a box of rice, police said.

Two armed men, Siraj Wahhaj and Lucas Morton, were arrested at the scene, and charged with several counts of child abuse. Three women, believed to be the children's mothers, were detained but later released.

“Black Muslims?”

most likely parolees/escapees, but indoctrinated in prison. The muslim religion has a strangle hold on blacks in prison

The Amalia zip code has a population density of approximately 1 person per square mile (200). Not to mention these guys would stand out among the locals.

Related, I visited Plaza Blanca (Ghost Ranch) near Abiquiu and to the left was a sign for a mosque (and a rumored underground baby factory), the other side was an active film set.

What is going on in the beautiful state of New Mexico? Sounds to me like the state is not properly protecting its residents from invaders and might need federal assistance.

KRQE story with aerial video:

Eleven children found in 'makeshift compound' taken into CYFD custody

GPS location: 36.976586°N, -105.450217°
The location does not show on Google earth but can be found from the video showing the two buildings to the south; it is just about 1.3 miles south of the CO border.

That area is the southernmost of the San Luis valley of Colorado. Alamosa is the biggest community and regularly has the coldest temperature in the US in winter. The children are lucky they were rescued before the fall or else they would die of the cold.

The mosque at Abiquiu has been there for years. They used to (and may still) run a restaurant/inn along the highway. They seem to be the peaceful variety though their mission is to educate others on the Muslim faith (we know how that goes).

This might provoke a question or two. Check out this nearby solar PV farm. It’s a little SE of the compound and just N or Amalia, a mile in each case. Here is reputedly the site of the compound. Navigate away.

Paradise Power Corp is a Taos solar contractor. Watch their video. Rock out to the tunes (if you are Somali).

This is too weird for me, as I’m only a couple hundred miles away.

The elevation in Amalia itself is 8,146 feet. That place has to get cold in the Winter.

I had a relative who lived in N. central NM at that approx. elevation. He said it would drop to 30 below zero in the winter at times.
