Democrats made some calculaitons and decided that blue collar workers, government union people, catholics, and a few other white groups were locked in and could be ignored. Indeed, they were so locked in that when they pandered to other minority groups by blaming whites for all of the worlds ills dems figured the white base would stick around at least long enough that their votes wouldn't count for much due to demographics.

They may be right in the end. But in the near term they miscalculated on the timing of the disaffection of the white working class. They are jumping ship while they still have numbers and hence some clout.

So we'll see if their remaining coalition of muslim transgender communist illegal immigrant government workers can win them elections in the short term.
