http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3676035/posts?page=64#64 :

Free passage and allies around the world are important. We may not agree with them on everything, but with China in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and eventually South America, what’s your take on who our allies remain to be at that time?

Who would we trade with. Who would we get strategic minerals and other raw materials from?

They day of the U. S. having any say on global dynamics would be over. ***

We are in Afghanistan. Why?
Because the Chinese are already there mining copper and REE’s under an agreement with the Taliban. The whole mini troop surge was to try to gain an entry into the REE’s by stopping the Chinese-Taliban alliance.

The Chinese were willing to help the Taliban with their Poppy fields.

Well, gee, the US is also guarding Poppy Fields in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, here at home, we hear, Opioid Crisis! out the wazoo. The Chinese already have the market on REE’s to include buying the only US REE mine in June of 2017 by a Chinese Consortium from it’s previous owner, also a Chinese Company.

Have you noticed who is buying water rights out West? The Saudi’s.
I would prefer the US safeguards it’s supplies of these things important to our future, instead of selling them off to those who will be holding them over our heads further in the future.
